How far will they go? Rooms are only so big if it’s a TV for a home.
Ever read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury? We are almost there.

Very generally, get an OLED for dark room watching and a QLED with a mini LED backlight for watching in rooms with any significant light. It is a tradeoff like everything in video these days.

wife and I bought a 46" DLP in 2004 or so. It was $3700 or something like that. That's about the equivalent of $6500 today.

Is there even a commercial TV for sale for $6500? What tech are they shoving in it that makes it that much better than a $400 75” behemoth for example?

I’m in the market for a 100” before football season kicks off.

Probably just grab one from Costco unless someone points me in a better direction

see KKK, it’s like we’re cut from the same cloth!!

ETA: I need it for this wall. The TV up there now I think is 65”, so 98”+ should be fine.

Jesus, remember those Sony 36" tube TV's... Damn those things must've weighed about 300lbs...

ohhh yeah, you've definitely got the space for a 98". That baby will be able to see Bluey's nose hairs in his/her play pen with the 98"

mine will be to replace a 65" LG TV in our new living room. Nothing wrong with the LG, it's just not big enough for that wall and/or open living room/kitchen area.

I've done the fireplace mounts before and really just don't like the angle, plus the living room furniture orientation wouldn't work if we put one up there. So it'll go on the 14' empty wall with 10' ceiling. Wife is ordering a custom made buffet for the wall. So I'm waiting for that and assuming the QM7 98" will catch a $200-300 sale come Labor Day.

If I time this correctly, I'll be hosting a LSU vs Ole Piss watch party with the new setup.

The wall on the other side of the fireplace is nothing but windows looking into the backyard, so QLED just isn't going to work as well as a Mini-LED for us.

I've read those TCL soundbars / sub packages are worth getting while you're at it.

I can’t wait for projectors to have the same quality as a high end tv.

funny thing is. I'm actively shopping for CRT/DVD combo's for a reasonable price. We got gifted about a 200 kid/family movies on DVD. And I've got an old N64 I want to setup on a 27"+ CRT for my two boys in their play room. Power or internet goes out during a storm, no problem.

Why do you think Qled or mini led are that much cheaper than Oled screens??

Best Buy sells the Hisense 110 for 15k. I have seen it on sale for 13k. I have been hoping for a long time that it would drop to 10k but no.

BB also sells the new 116 for 19k.
