My senior year, I had the second highest batting average in our winter league and eventually got 1st team all region for school league. I'd say half of my hits barely made it over the second and first baseman's heads . I could square one up, but my biggest attribute was making contact. I rarely missed a ball a swung at (didn't necessarily hit it straight or hard). That turned into fouling off enough pitches to get a walk or bloop singles A LOT. Don't knock the contact hitter.

4.54 hand timed by my 10th grade coach, wearing cleats.

I know I can still clear a fence that is 315, hit some balls at a local park with my son and his friends last fall. When I was in high school in the dark ages, I was a gap hitter with not a bunch of power but we still had wood bats.

I did hit the wall at Turchin several times when my kid played travel ball for one of the Graduate Assistants a few years back.

So just to clarify/summarize your other post:

1. Your bp was more impressive than most major league players
2. You received multiple college scholarship offers based on your bp, but you sucked at hitting live pitches in actual games.
