Approx 45 minutes to Crystal Beach.

I go less than 5 times a year.

Does brackish water count?

ETA, although, I just noticed the qualifier "nice" so what I'm thinking as the closest that might apply to me probably doesn't.

About 400 miles to the SC beaches... go zero times per year.

Go to North Carolina at least once even though it's 75ish more miles.

About 3 to 4 hours from my house to Orange Beach Alabama. We used to go yearly. Last time we went was 2 years ago.

Bout 4.5 hours.
Basic suburban family here that makes our once-a-year annual vacation to the beach.

Depending on which way I go and traffic, an hour or less to Garden City, Surfside, and Myrtle Beach

don't ask me how or why, because I couldn't even begin to tell you, but CC Dixon-Moreno posts started showing up on my fb news feed in the last month and even though I don't live in OB I feel like I know more about the politics there than I do my own town lol

How long have you been there? I've wanted to move to OB, but keep getting told from people who live near the beach get burned out on it.

300ish miles to the beach that we go to most often, usually go once or twice a year. I’m not usually a full week at the beach person. We usually go for one or two long weekends (3-4 days).

I obviously can't speak from personally experience like others in this thread can. However my best friend that I've grown up with my whole life lived in Atlanta for many years and eventually him and his wife got sick of it and decided to just pack up and move to Orange Beach with their three kids. They moved three or four years ago and say it's the best decision they've ever made. We hang out with them every year when we go down there and they look like they are just loving life. He said that everyone in their neighborhood is similar to him in that they all we're at various other parts of the country and basically said frick it and just decided to move to the beach so there is a very like-minded sense of community there.

I grew up in a rough area in Pensacola but always loved Orange Beach. Lived all over the place in my early twenties but came back down here in 2018. Got sober and started my own business a few years ago. It's a great place. Snow birds drive me crazy but other than that I can't complain about much.

I live on the island in gulf shores.
Two minute drive to beach.
Maybe a dozen times per year.
