I'm just going to let mine learn at public school and the internet, like everything else.

If they aren't flamboyant then they change their voice or dress like a dude. Just act normal and you will be treated that way. Also why do lesbians love dildos? Wouldn't that be counter productive ?

People love who they love.

While you may not always morally agree with it, if they have willingly chosen it, it's none of your concern.

On the alphabet people, I just tell the kids they are mentally ill. Which is factually correct.

Truth. A friend of mine is a doctor and gay. If he never told you, you'd never know it.

I'm genuinely curious. If it's just the bonding with the same sex then just be friends with them. I never understood why lesbos like bulldikes. They look like dudes but it's like they forgot they are a lesbian and on top of that the bulldikes wear a strapon. And by the way I can't help it if it slips in when im wiping my arse.

I have a lesbian cousin who is one of the coolest and genuinely nicest people I know. My kids have asked about it and I told them that sometimes that's the way people are. I'm not directing any judgement towards it, good or bad. They judge the person and they know she's a great human being and that she loves them. They're reaction to her being with another woman is very 'who gives a shite' anyway so it is what it is.

It's just one of those things and it happens. If you want to beat the drum either for it or against it, the problem is probably you.

I've got close friends like that, and like an above poster mentioned, that are just "regular" people that happen to be gay, it's the in your face homos that wear it like a badge of honor and have to constantly remind you of it and think there should be separate rules just for them that give the good queers a bad rap

IMO this is a minority. I'm not saying that all gay guys are flamboyant and absurd, but it's extremely rare that I'm surprised by someone being gay. And I live and work in environments where it's fairly common.

And, having had friends who did not come out until later in life, it's pretty obvious there is a major cultural/social component in those mannerisms. I guess you can argue they were just "suppressed" for a long time but I think a lot of it is learned behavior.

Lesbians are sometimes less obvious to me but I've rarely been surprised when I find out a man is gay.

I have still yet to meet a hot lesbian IRL though.

I tell them the truth. When my son asked about gay parents I said one of the mom’s is the real mom and the other is a step mom. They are raising a kid and they don’t know where the father is but the child does have one.

I also tell them don’t watch tv shows with those people in it. Be nice to them in person but I don’t want you hanging around those people in school. He said ohhh I won’t. Just what I wanted to hear.

Yeah, it's to the point where I can probably pick a gay guy out from a phone call or a professional website photo pretty accurately.

I may have been blindsided once or twice by a dude, but I can't remember it. I can think of a couple of examples for women though.

the guy that took down the panty bomber is gay, played college hockey for Kent State, iirc, is a funny guy, doesn't look, dress, or act it, he's a pretty cool guy to hang out with, he was going to kill that punk

I don't have kids. But as my dad taught me when I was young.

Most people like people of the opposite sex. Boys like girls, and girls like boys. But there are some people who are attracted to the same sex. They are different, but it doesn't matter. You treat them the exact same as you treat any other person.

Seems like a simple enough explanation that stayed with me. So I'll probably have the same conversation with my kids
