You tell them that God made men and women. They were created to marry only one another and raise good children. There are boys and girls and nothing else. The ones that think otherwise are mentally ill.

I don’t envy raising a young child in this messed up world.
Sure, but the sexual preference of others is not something I ever give any thought to when thinking about the messed up world in relation to my children, especially when school shootings are becoming the norm these days. Much bigger fish to fry, if you will.

For the OP, it's super simple. If your kids notice it and ask questions...most boys like girls, most girls like boys. But sometimes boys like boys and girls like girls. That's it, not very difficult.

Yes because it's fricking gross and weird and kids don't understand it

My kid has a friend whose parents are lesbians. She came home one day and told me the kid had 2 moms which I already knew. I just explained that everyone’s home life is different & that’s why we treat everyone with kindness. My kid was only 6 at the time and this sufficed.

WTF? Being close minded and worrying about other people's life choices is wrong.

No.

But considering how much of this is in our faces, I'll eventually have to have that chat.

It’s not. Being born gay isn’t the sin, it’s the participation in gay activities. No where in the Bible does it say being born gay is a sin.

It is embarrassing how many close minded people there are.

When my kids were in their preteens, I told them the truth. Queers were queers and they are funny as hell, shemales were abominations and mentally ill people, and lesbians were normally liberals and actually liked dick, but they were mad at the world for an unknown reason.

I wouldn't either if they wouldn't throw that shite in your face everywhere you go. Gay people act so flamboyant and its impossible to not notice them in public. If you want to be out there like that then you better expect that shite to be thrown back at you

Yeah, some of them do. That's painting with a pretty broad brush though. It would be like me saying everyone on TD is the ignorant backwoods type, when you guys actually only make up a small percentage of the board.

I think I'm a ways off from this but the thread is interesting.

I'm probably more concerned with how to address the gay parent thing than the existence of homosexually attracted people.

The majority of gay folks are not like this at all.
