When you answer a phone call that you know is a business call how do you answer?

Do you say "hello"?
Do you say your first name- "This is John"?
Do you say your whole name- "This is John Doe"?
Do you say just your whole name- "John Doe"?

I have a coworker that answers with just his full name and another coworker that answers with his first name.

I answer with hello, and I've noticed that almost every caller's first words are "is this John"? or "John?"

I'm starting to think that that it would be more professional to answer with something besides hello.

What says the OT?

But with cell phones and caller ID if I know the person I will say "Bob! How have you been? or some other familiar greeting.

A breathy “well hello there, handsome” followed by “the first five minutes are $19.99…”

If it's in my contacts I say "Hi Shamalama Melika, what's up?"

If not, I just say hello.

Also, if it's someone I'm friendly with, I will say "Dominoes Pizza, will this be for pickup or delivery?"

As another poster printed out, if I recognize them on caller id then I greet them as such.

If I don't know then I answer this is "maytheporkbewithyou."
