Severely obese people have a lot more going on than just having a soda pop problem.

Bingo. inactivity is probably number one.

You hit the nail on the head.

I'd bet my ranch I have more hours at college than mr. misplaced. I would have barely made a living off of it had I not met people that knew how to make money.

They took me under their wing and like you, retired, I do whatever I feel like doing. I have 6 saturdays and a sunday.

Yup, believing soda pop is the problem is ignorance on the subject.

It's much more complicated than that.

As an American I still say we should stay out of their business.

Sodas are lower on the list of concerns than the lack of exercise this country gets.

You can eat like shite and be ok as long as you exercise

Critical thinking is dying in this country. People just repeat what they hear.

I'm not really sure what you are bragging about?

It took you longer to graduate than me? You didn't know how to make money on your own?

honestly the only people I see drinking soft drinks are severely overweight.

Honestly, the people I see drinking the sugar water are normal weight or skinny, and I see fat prople drinking diet soda.

You better believe I'm eating a bag of oreos and drinking a half gallon of milk after my marathon on Sunday.

I don’t see why people would chose sugar water with no health benefits over actual water.

I work with a couple ladies that refuse to drink water because they said they don’t like the taste. The literally go their lives never drinking straight water, it always have to be a coke or have some sort of flavor packet added to it. I ask why not drink straight water and they say they can’t stand the taste.

i subscribe to the theory that gut bacteria causes this. it creates a scenario where your body craves sugar and adapts to how it gets the sugar

i used to 100% be this way

then i did iced tea
then i did flavored, carbonated water

now it's almost pure water or coffee w whole milk. i will get a real soda for a bad meal every once in a while but i can't finish it

and i haven't even been eating well the past year. but sodas? luckily that desire never really took hold again

I can sympathize. I don't either. I rarely drink water. Taste just isn't very good.

I see. It's a tough lifelong battle for some.

I suppose I'm fortunate in that respect. I'm more like a hummingbird. Sugar just keeps me going.

i didn't eat vegetables until about 5 years ago

would only drink water after exercise (i do loathe sugary drinks after working out more than almost anything else)

i was the most picky eater other than my cousin who only ate microwaved chicken nuggets his entire life
