How do I politely tell my neighbor to stop cutting my grass?

I’ll start by saying that my next door neighbors are great people and we hang out often. Whenever they cut before I do, they cut my side of the property in between our houses. I appreciate the gesture, but the problem is that they cut it too low and scalp the shite out of the grass. How do I politely let them know without being offensive or ruining a great friendship? I try beating them to the punch but it isn’t always feasible with my job.

My neighbor does the exact same thing. I've just let it be for 10 years now.

It's really not worth it.

Ask them nicely to just stay at the property line

If that doesn't work then shite on their grass

ask him why he cuts with the blades so low. It's not exactly a controversial topic so I'm not sure why you are scared to have a conversation about cutting the grass with him

I had this exact problem with my neighbor for the past year. I didn’t want to frick up the relationship we have so I didn’t say anything and finally they stopped. At least for now.

this is the correct response, just like a bad haircut, you won't notice it in a day or two

Tell him your short term goal in life is to win yard of the month and you need to take extra care with it

ETA: this is a bigger issue than people realize, a buddy I had back in the day was a sheriff's deputy and he said they would get calls about neighbors mowing over property lines daily

THIS

It boggles my mind that some humans have no idea how to have a rational conversation with adults.
