How is AI relevant to people uploading their minds into robots?

We've been groomed since at least the 60s to accept it.

Heck, Prime actually has a show called "Upload" where the premise is that, upon death, your mind is uploaded into a fully interactive digital world in which you can actually be with other "uploads" AND have communication access with the real world.

Why isn’t anyone screaming about how AI is going to take our jobs? We love to scream about how the illegals are taking our lovely jobs, like cooking at a restaurant, being on top of a roof all day, putting up sheetrock, mowing lawns, etc, etc. Those are the kind of jobs we want our kids to do I get it. But it seems to me that the biggest threat of someone taking “our” jobs is AI.

It was needed 30 years ago. It's way too late now although it's coming. We will have mass civil unrest.

Most of the board is in complete denial.

Uploading the consciousness is nothing more than copying someone’s consciousness. It isn’t preventing the person who’s consciousness was copied from dying off.

No so much in denial as lamenting what it's going to do to society as a whole. America has already been dumbed due to social media. Now we're also going to have a bunch of AI zombies with no idea how to think on their own or how to work independently without requiring the assistance of some AI app. Hopefully I am close to being retired by the time AI is fully integrated into the workplace.

AI can give you almost any information you ask it to give you.

No, it can give you any information that is already public knowledge. It scraps from the Internet.

I am ready to accept it with the caveat it will always be a copy function, never a move.

In other words, you can't move you into another body. You can only copy yourself.

I think there's a buttload of steps between now and then, but it's definitely out there as a goal.

Accepting isnt the correct word. My opinion doesnt matter though. However its basically a given (to me) that it will happen sooner than most expect. I hate to sound like the old people when I was just a kid BUT Im pretty sure the best days of humanity are in the rear view mirror at this point.

Once they put that kind of power into a robot with more strength than a human what do you think will happen?
I'm going to carry a big old microwave magnet and neutralize him right there on the spot.

Much the same as a gun to a thug.

How do you propose saving the consciousness of a human being to electronic storage?
