Part of the weekly filing is that you have to submit places that you applied- company, job title, who you emailed/spoke to, how you applied, phone number, email address, address. And you typically have to do 3 per week.
Same for MS when I applied for unemployment back in 2014

I'm not sure that's really going to happen in huge numbers.
I think there will be a lot of people that work in those industries thinking it may be a full year before things are back to previous levels so best to get a job from a restaurant/hotel that's able to re-hire since the benefits at that level aren't going to last forever.

I don’t believe the unemployment bill, as crazy as it is, will be a factor.
Demand for rooms needs to take off. There’s no reason to believe that will happen soon.

Me. I've enjoyed Cook ng more lately and have actually made some really good dinners. But, frick, I hate cleaning up and all that afterwards. I just want to go eat a nice meal, drive home, and have a bourbon before bed. It's just easier to pay the restaurant to clean up for me.

LA benefit cap is $247/week. Because it is so low, most people get this.
Fed added on $600 a week, so $847/week.

I've been craving a margarita and some good Tex mex. I know I can get takeout but it's not the same. The weather is perfect to sit out on a patio right now too.

I think the additional unemployment benefits will create a short-term increase in wages and pricing in the service industry.

If you are talking about in the Nola area, a lot of that was due to the lower end worker having no where to live nearby.
The hotels are going to take quite a while to ramp back up to anywhere near normal and by that time, the unemployment bonus will be done.
Restaurants will be kind of mixed. Some places will do well, but bigger places in areas that rely more on business travel and tourism will have a slow recovery. I think we will be ok. Believe it or not, a lot of people will really want to get back to work.

difference is people left nola and didnt go back. I know many people that moved and stayed in br, Shreveport, leafy, etc. And I am a loser with few friends so there had to be quite a good number that did that.
now, people are just at home. most will go back to their old job
