LINK
The Texans are moving their Headquarters from NRG to Cypress, TX.
You NW Houstonians / Bridgeland community are about to get a great real estate boom and lifestyle experience, 17k jobs, integration with community including HS football Friday night lights use of Texans’ facility and professional women’s volleyball, etc.
Breaking ground in 2026 for 2029 training camp!
If you own real estate in the area, good for you!

They should move the stadium up there, blow up NRG, and make the Astrodome relevant again

I lived in Cypress a while back, if we went to a game at NRG it would take an hour and a half both ways.
Made it too much of a pain in the arse to go.

Nrg somehow made the plastic seats more uncomfortable than steel bleachers.

It is 32 miles away

Straight through Houston. I’m shocked he only said 1.5 hours.

I predict at least one baby born to a Texan and women’s professional volleyballer will be a future star.

Should make for a far greater training camp experience even if it is 115F in the shade

Heck yeah, not directly in Bridgeland but Town Lake right across Fry, finally maybe I can actually turn a house into nice profit for once in my life.

The future NHL team needs to go ahead and build their arena out there too

The Cowboys HQ in Frisco is the model. It’s been a huge boon to the area, and Frisco is at least 30 miles from AT&T Stadium.
Real estate has become a critical investment and revenue stream for professional sports franchises.

Live across the street from it. Our home values are already inflated from being in Bridgeland. This will make it worse.

I thought Cypress had gotten pretty shitty over last decade or so

Ironically… I do some business with the Texans and had an interesting meeting on this.
They have to lease from whoever owns the Stadium (Harris County and ASM Global.) They don’t get to do their own technology, security, networking, internet parking, etc. and are at the mercy of the county and ASM. They have to put their lives on hold every single Rodeo or event that happens at NRG and park a mile away just to get to the office.
World Cup has made their lives miserable.
Since the Draft happens right after Rodeo, they have to make Potential Draftees walk around the rodeo just to get in the stadium.
For them, this means they get to put in their own measures and run their own facility not at the mercy of whatever is being hosted there.

The closer you get to 529 the worse it gets.
But the areas just north and south of 290 between Barker and 99 are all really good.
Townelake, Bridgeland, Coles, Fairfield and the smaller developments adjacent to them are really good.

I live in Waller county and drive through bridge land and cypress everyday.
I live in the country for a reason, I don’t want all that traffic. Keep that crap in the loop.

Sounds like the same story for the rest of Houston.

Is this similar to what was happening with the Chicago Bears?
