Let’s check in on how bail reform is doing in Houston:

quote:

We were there when 25-year-old Deandre Calhoun appeared in court for a bond hearing. Last week, he allegedly beat his one year old daughter to death.

"This 1-year-old defenseless child is now the 119th victim of a defendant whose been released on multiple felony or PR bonds," said Andy Kahan with Crime Stoppers. "It’s reprehensible."

quote:

On February 3, 2020, 184th Criminal District Court Judge Abigail Anastasio set Calhoun’s bond for an Aggravated Robbery charge at $30,000.

While out of jail on that bond, Calhoun was charged with injury to a child.

"The first one involved multiple rib fractures to his one month old son, those fractures were in various stages of healing," said assistant DA Gilbert Sawtelle. "The defendant gave an admission to out of frustration squeezing that child on his chest."

"Guess what, we are not letting you back out again, because obviously you’re a public safety threat," Kahan said.

But instead of revoking his $30,000 cash bond, Judge Anastasio freed Calhoun on a PR bond, also known as a get out of jail free card.

"I’d love to hear an explanation," Kahan said. "I think the people are owed an explanation."

Now, Calhoun has a second injury to a child charge in the death of his one year old daughter.

So to recap:

Arrested for Aggravated Robbery and has bond set at $30k

He bonds out and proceeds to get arrested again for BEATING his 1 month old son…..a ONE MONTH OLD INFANT

The judge decides that this guy accused of robbery and BEATING a 1 month old should not be held on any bond, so she releases him while he awaits trials on 2 separate violent felony arrests

While out on those 2 charges, he then KILLS his 1 year old daughter

Insanity

Judge should go to jail with him. They should be cellmates. Only way to get these clown activist judges to stop destroying society.

I guess (D) Lina Hildalgo and (D) Mayor Sylvester Turner won’t be having a press conference on this matter…

Probably the KKK or a cop that hunted them down and then framed him. Poor Deandre. We have to do something about this white supremacy problem.

Being a POC is a get out of jail free card in Democrat cities.

Surely there will be press conferences, public demonstrations, marches, and speeches demanding justice and accountability for these 2 babies

Judges and DA’s have been a huge contributor to the erosion of America.

They need to be held accountable for their actions.

You missed an important part in your summary
quote:

those fractures were in various stages of healing,

This is a clear indication of repeated instances. The ribs wouldn’t show signs of various stages of healing for a 1 time moment of frustration

Judge Anastasio should commit suicide.

And I do actually mean that. It would be an honorable way out.

In before the prog talking point re the purpose of bail. It makes them feel better about themselves.

Unfortunately you got a bunch downtown in BR that do this same thing. With the same results.
