Hunkering down is the most reasonable ..I'm shocked how many people shot out to go nowhere and are sitting ducks on a feeder or normal road...you can see 45 isnt moving but they line up to water at their door to sit in line ...

This gauge is at FM 2090 just west of US 59 for those of you familiar with the area...It is approaching Harvey level there only about 9 inches lower.

Historic Crests
(1) 27.73 ft on 10/08/1949
(2) 25.77 ft on 08/28/2017
(3) 23.85 ft on 04/01/1945

No shite!

I live in FT Bend County and he knew how to handle shite.

Foreign influence in election trying to get Beto elected ruined Harris County forever.

Don't y'all have a foreigner in charge in Fort Bend, also?

It’s a totally different storm than Harvey. It’s dropped less rain than Harvey(total) but more in a shorter period of time.

It caught a lot of people off guard. There was no rain in downtown Houston at 7am this morning.

Just drove from downtown to The Woodlands via Hardy without any issues. Every frontage road & underpass was flooded though so plenty of cars were driving the wrong way on the exit ramps.

Yep, most people really don't understand the damage that Beto did in Houston.

The weather.com page for Katy has about 3 dozen river flood warning messages, and then this rare gem - a "Civil Emergency Message"

quote:

DUE TO FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCIES IN NORTHEAST HARRIS COUNTY INCLUDING KINGWOOD AND HUMBLE, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, LIBERTY COUNTY AND CHAMBERS COUNTY, EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REQUEST RESIDENTS TO STAY PUT AND SHELTER IN PLACE. DO NOT VENTURE ON TO ANY ROADS IN THESE AREAS. PEOPLE TRAVELLING ON AREA HIGHWAYS NEED TO AVOID THIS AREA AND CHANGE TRAVEL PLANS. IF YOU ARE TRAPPED IN YOUR HOUSE DUE TO FLOODING CALL EMERGENCY PERSONEL FOR EVACUATION RESCUE.

Yes I made it all the way from Summerwood to Sand Creek in Kingwood down Lake Houston Parkway from the Beltway. Actually cut through Duessen Park. There is high water and lots of stalls before you get to FM1960 but you can make it in a truck (would not attempt in a car or small SUV).

Looks like HEB in the back of Kingwood is flooded again too. That parking lot looks like a lake.
