Weird framing. We are the only species in this world that pays for...anything. Unless those squirrels in my backyard are bartering those acorns in their cheeks.

I’m sure that female squirrels are bartering by accepting his nuts in order to eat nuts.

Looking at the way that circle is sutuated I would be pretty pissed too.

Not sure what the planning was in relation to build time for the homeowner or the options for rerouting Barsket Road, but frick that looks bad.

Anyone know the back story here? The house looks neglected (possibly empty), and it's directly across from the Walk On's development.

He's mad that they built on their own property. They offered to build him a house, he refused. They offered to build him on one of their lots. He refused. They offered to build him anywhere and he refused. At least that's how I understood it. Guy is a tool.

I’d sell for double the appraisal value or they could shove it

I want to say he asked for triple value and that is when they quit negotiating with him.

To explain the bitching, the traffic circle and other work on that highway ended up cutting off their existing driveway and left them with an oddly shaped plot of land which cuts its ability to be resold considerably.

LADEQ has all sorts of "smell" regulations. The powers that be would send in LADEQ to shut that down quickly.

which is dumb. I bet he could have gotten 2X easy, which would be a nice win.

So he built a house with knowledge of this development, tried to hold out for a triple return, so they went another route and made his property worth less than he started. A little FAFO on his part? He thought he had a pure supply and demand situation with no choice on the part of the developer to seek a little governmental assistance and intervention?

I guess he found out the American dream doesn’t include getting to extort a developer when the government, which stands to make a lot more tax money from the development than his property tax, can just exercise a little eminent domain.

He built the house in 2004 according to Google Earth. Back then, there was absolutely nothing out there.

The Gov screwed up by not taking it when the value was lower. The Gov/ developers could have just forced him to sell under Imm Dom and told him to pound sand.
