Either way eventually thank a Karen or soccer mom for complaining. This will cause the developers to buy you out. Sell for a profit, when the developer buys you out.

Got one better. I’d just put up several huge signs for XXX video rental with flashing neon lights with some scantily clad woman around the property. Maybe a peep show inside sign.

He can keep a small room with some old vhs porn in case they try to fight him for being a legitimate business. That way no employees, no animals you have to take care of. Nothing. Just keep a bookcase with a few old vhs pornos on a bookcase in a room in the house for optics.

Pretty sure those surrounding businesses will come back to the table with the quickness to meet his demand.

If not, o well. Im petty like that. If I was old, I woukd not give two fricks. Soccer moms woukd go crazy.

Property taxes don't just happen

Every single jurisdiction with property taxes voted to have those taxes, either directly or through elected representatives.

The Gov screwed up by not taking it when the value was lower. The Gov/ developers could have just forced him to sell under Imm Dom and told him to pound sand.

Instead they allowed a developer to frick him over by placing the circle to where his property would become less valuable.

frick that. Imm Dom in this sutuation is a bad example. Taking part of his land to help a developer is no good. But developers have politicians in their pocket so it is what happens.

Looks to me like his property value as commercial (not residential) should skyrocket with the development. If he is zoned residential and can’t see anyone opposing a rezoning. Dude took what could be the best thing that ever happened to him and f’d it up.

From what I was told by people who knew more about it, the work on that area was in public planning for a long time before he built his house there and his demands were so high that they quit negotiating with them. Hence the passive aggressive sign.

If it was in public planning a long time before he build, why didn't they try to work out the situation then?

On the other hand, assuming he knew there was public planning in the area why did he build?

Im not saying this would happen, but assuming what they are offering is more than he paid for land and house, taxes he has paid on the house already, then he should sell it before someone who really wants that area decides to burn down the house. Or are things like that not likely to happen in that area?

The guys house was built in 2004. The land across the street was cleared in 2012/2013. I doubt he built that house knowing they were planning to develop the area like they did.

The pic makes me wonder if his driveway/property had access to the public road (64) before the traffic circle and expansion were added.

It would be messed up if they bought just enough to cut him off and shifted road (kind of looks like this was done), but If he was always driving through others’ properties to get to the public road from driveway then it’s more on the owner.

This is an easy fix. He should simply junk up the place and force their hand for the dollar that he demands.

If his land was altered like it’s being said that it was then he should do any and everything.

Put Xmas lights in your trees year round. Buy obnoxious statues. Allow anyone and everyone to advertise in your yard.

Make it an eyesore that the local
Businesses will want gone and eventually things will change or they will meet your price demand.

You realize that this wouldn't work, right? They would just ED the whole property.

From what I have been told, the ED to do the traffic circle flipped his driveway from being off that highway to coming from the other direction, cutting a chunk of his property off in the process.

He’s allowed to live there so nobody is denying him the dream. Nobody is forced to not change the area surrounding your property to make you happy.

We need to know the zoning when he bought the house and if the zoning has changed before we can form a real opinion. Great lesson on how voting matters, public officials have to be the ones to change zoning (if it did change).

That awesome.
Have dodge challenger and charger events every weekend at your place.
Then have a wink wink trail ride there every weekend.
Host Southern University pre game events.

Just play the system better than the developers.

Enquist offered him way over market price for the house and a free house in Americana but the owner didn't accept.
