Well said.
Slowpokes in the left lane is a pet peeve of mine. Causes traffic backups.
Drive in the middle lanes(if its a multi-lane highway/interstate), pass in the left lane, and use the right lane to exit. Simple. Too bad so many people are ignorant to that.

Another problem is very few people properly maintain their vehicles. All they do is put gas in it and drive. Bald tires, worn out brakes, worn out wipers, mismatches tires, etc., etc.
Also, get a dash cam. They are very cheap and easy to install.

FWIW, Alabama has a highway road rage law. It’s is technically illegal to “ride” in the passing lane on state highways. If you’re not passing you’re getting back in right lane ASAP
I've never seen it enforced. Probably not so easy to do just by camping out looking for speeders.

Just awful.

Oh Lord! I can't stand this. Absolutely horrific. So sorry for them.

People dicking around in the left lane causes traffic to become more congested
True

faster traffic to weave between lanes to pass slower drivers,
Slowing down is a novel concept.
I’m not saying you need to be 5mph below the limit but as others have pointed out, 85-90MPH + is the norm for that stretch.

There’s no possible quicker reaction than letting your foot off the gas.
The ECU is faster.

But if it takes even a second or two for cruise to turn off,
It doesn't.

I'd find it hard to believe that your cruise control would kick off as fast as you would remove your foot from the accelerator
Tap your brake and see how fast cruise turns off.

you can only ride in the left hand lane for maybe a mile or so to pass?
I've never, ever actually seen it enforced, and I don't think it should have been passed.

OMG . Almost all children. Dear God help these families.

Left lane driving restricting passing traffic is the cause of most interstate accidents.

Tapping your brakes while hydroplaning is unbelievably dangerous.

When I see the women with the pink shirt talking on the phone I see Ed O’s face

He's not talking about hydroplaning, he's saying the ecu kills cruise instantaneous with the brake being applied.

I didn't say do it while hydroplaning. Do it on a sunny day and see how fast the cruise shuts off. The traction control system in your car, which does take over in the event of hydroplaning, will shut the cruise off just as fast. The argument was that the foot is faster than the computer chip. It isn't.

same for 12 thru Livingston/tangi
if it starts raining while I’m on the way home I usually exit and take 190. I am not going to die in a fiery crash because of selfish morons

Do we know the basics of what went wrong? I can imagine that the formal inquiry will take longer but what directions were the vehicles with fatalities traveling? Did some vehicle cross the median? How was the car carrier involved? If the car carrier was loaded, and lost its load, how many other vehicles (and what kinds) were involved and had survivors?
Maybe some changes can be made because there's a lot more summer traffic still to happen there.

Was this in the northbound or the southbound lanes?

My moms family is from Greenville. There have ghost stories about that stretch of highway forever. I have never liked driving through there so many bad wrecks.
