I started seeing this on Facebook earlier today. But I’m down in New Orleans with the family so I’m only now getting details. The cause of the accident is suspected to by hydroplaning vehicles on a bridge near Greenville in south Alabama. Number of vehicles at this point is unknown and I’m seeing unconfirmed reports of at least eleven fatalities. Here are the pictures being posted on Facebook by a reporter from a local station. It’s not good. If you believe in prayer, there’s a lot of families in need right now.

Yikes.

This is one of those times "could have been me" isn't a joke.

I-65 during the summer vacation series is worse than the Talladega 500, especially on weekends when most people are coming from or going to the beach. The problem is you have those who want go 90 MPH mixed in with those who want to go 70 or less. And on top of that you’ve got a shite ton of big trucks that at best might do 70 downhill trying to pass a truck that is doing 68 and a half and taking 5 miles to do it.

This is what I’ve found.

LINK

I’ve heard it was due to hydroplaning on a bridge. The system that rolled through New Orleans yesterday rolled through Alabama today.

That’s bad but I don’t see how there could be 100 fatalities unless there were all in two vehicles.

Prayers for those involved and their families

There’s a double-decker car trailer that’s nearly empty except for one vehicle. Any chance the wreck dislodged other vehicles it was transporting?

I hate those bridges that don't have a shoulder. They're just wide enough for 2 lanes of traffic.
I'm not sure by looking at that drone photo that there may be damage done to the left side of the bridge.

That’s possible I guess.

If I had to guess I’m thinking he was empty. But, again that’s just a guess.
