Campground and a camper?

My brother does this and loves it. He's single and makes good money. He's just cheap and doesn't want the hassle of a house. Bought a $30K trailer and pays $600/month (water, electric, and WiFi included) to park it in a RV park backed up to a nice pond.

Where there’s a will there’s a teacher using their job for sympathy because the mob forced them to be a teacher apparently.

There is no way someone should be homeless on $53k a year. What is taken out a year? $6k? If so, that puts him at $3,833.33 a month. Rent... $1700? Buy a decent used vehicle and between car not and insurance... What? $650? That leaves him with $1483.

Maybe Save $300 a month? Then groceries... If he got a room mate could that drop his rent cost?

Does he have family? Maybe move where they are, live with one of them if possible until you get your finances worked out.

He could teach summer school to supplement his income.

This reminds me of this teacher I had in HS. Old black dude. He owned a funeral home, a part owner of a bar, and taught drivers ed. He pretty much taught for the insurance. He said he got in the funeral home business because when he first started teaching he worked at a funeral home as well. Learned the business, opened up his own. When he started doing well with that he had an opportunity to invest in a bar. Didn't drive anything fancy. He used to tell use cars are a waste of money, don't buy one brand new... And when you get to a point you can pay in cash.. Do it.

Im just saying if this dude is in this situation he can create his own opportunities.

Men' should not be 4th grade teachers.

I disagree totally. Would be weird for younger kids. A man teaching first grade would be weird. By fourth grade, it would be good to have a male presence at these schools. Most of these schools have almost no men in them at at my position.

and student loan debt.

Bullllllllshiiiiiit.

An income based repayment plan would make his payment amount ridiculously low.

As a teacher, it will be forgiven after 10 years under PSLF.

This guy is fricking around some other way but it isn't his loans.

If this is my kids school the administration wouldn’t hear the end of it from me. On top of everything else about his terrible life decisions the fact that they are letting him sleep in the parking lot is insane.

if it weren't for all the teacher's unions and no school choice, teachers would be making a lot more money.

I’m a teacher and started a thread within the last day asking about how I can afford child support. It’s a gig that won’t make you rich. I’m exploring side hustles and potential career changes. I WANT to feel for this guy.

With that said, there’s got to be more to this story. Is he spending his hard earned money on green nail polish? Why is his credit so bad? Lastly, maybe Austin isn’t the place for him.

If he gets his money on go fund me, more power to him. I just feel like we are missing some details.

Sounds like the kind of person that I want representing me in a legislative body. Practical and understands the value of a dollar.
