Homeless moved to NOLA hotels “timebomb for corona”

I, for one, did not see this one coming at all.
These are the people in charge of making major decisions hard at work. What the frick did they think was going to happen when you move homeless people into hotels to fight a virus? You have to try to be this stupid, it’s absolutely mind blowing

I can't believe there isn't more outrage that the Hilton Garden Inn moved homeless from the Warehouse District to another Garden Inn out in New Orleans East. Why not the St. Charles Ave Garden District hotel?

About half of the 190 homeless people temporarily housed at the Hilton Garden Inn on Gravier Street are being moved to a hotel in New Orleans East, where they can continue to isolate themselves during the coronavirus pandemic.
The move by state and city officials is aimed at lowering the density of homeless people at the Hilton.
“We decided it would be easier to manage if we de-densify the population … and relieve some congestion at the Hilton Garden Inn,” said Ellen Lee, the city’s director of community and economic development.
About 100 people were loaded on RTA buses and taken to the New Orleans East Quality Inn off I-10 near Read Boulevard. Each bus trip was limited to 10 people to keep people spaced apart.

The hotels that these wretched souls are despoiling are all going onto my no-fly zones forever more.
Anything in the East (home of ZERO good restaurants) was already on the list.
