I moved there right after I graduated college in 2006. It was an awesome time in my life to be there.
I'll agree it doesn't really have the same culture or charm as some cities. Everyone I met had moved there from other places, but that made it pretty cool as well. People were eager to make new friends.
And yeah, its definitely a big bachelor/bachelorette party destination. Its like New Orleans. You always see a group of women in their bachelorette party get-up on any given day.

Sorry, we like where we live. The horror.

All the places I listed in Nash are within 15 min of each other, with most being within 5.
But most middle class tourists are of the Disney and Carnival variety. I don't mean that as an insult, it's just how we've patterned the average family vacationer to engage in tourism.
So I can see how people hit Broadway and think "so this is Nashville, oh look, a Hard Rock!"

lots of distribution companies in all of TN due to central location.

Some people piss on things that are objectively good to either be cool or to compensate for some insecurity.
It is not pissing on something to say they don't get the same swooning feeling over a city. In my travels, Nashville is overpriced for what it is. There is no being "cool" in saying that. I tend to stick to the West End and try to find local joints to listen to music. Would I pick Nashville for a weekend vacation? No. Would I live there? Sure, if I could get away from the actual city.

pretty solid. Try Mafiozas next door to there if you're ever back in town. Good pizza and great beer specials. Tues has 2 for 1s and it's jam packed by 5 o clock.

A ploy by the liberals to infiltrate red states and turn them blue.

i'm 17.8 miles from downtown (straight down hillsboro pike) and i'm smack dab in the middle of the country. when the sun goes down its DARK and its safe and i can set up shooting targets in the woods behind my house.

not being a dick, but this is probably the last place I'd go for local music. Next time you visit look up Basement East and see if you like who is playing. They mix it up pretty well. Station Inn in the Gulch is always a good too. The Steeldrivers (Chris Stapleton) played there every week for many years.

I even found a New Orleans/ Louisiana themed bar in Franklin....cant remember the name...I sat there and had a few beers while the wife shopped up and down Main St
