well that's not even remotely true.
Broadway, midtown, Demonbreun, The Gulch, 12th South, Printers Alley, Germantown and just over the bridge is East Nashville which has a number of areas to visit as well. Most still consider this area downtown.
head slightly west and you have West End, Charlotte area, The Nations, etc...
your statement is incredibly false. There is tons to do in the downtown and within 5-10 minutes of downtown.

Great, 5k millineals coming to a town near me. I’m just outside of the sprawl, but at this rate I’ll be within walking distance of an 8 dollar mochalatte faster than you can say “bike lane”.

Nashville is BOOMING.
I know it's doing its damnedest to unseat Atlanta as the western hemisphere's most overrated city.

"Atlanta sucks LOL" says dude who is bragging about a city whose explosion is due in no small part to CRE developments planned for Atlanta but priced out. We're not rivals, and Nashville is benefitting a ton from Atlanta's growth and improvement.
lolwut?
i'm talking about quality of life. nashville doesn't have traffic jams all day and into midnight half the time and weekends.

Great place to live though.
We spent 5 days in Nashville a few years ago and had a great time.
Spent a couple days downtown, went to Franklin and spent a couple nights down there, toured Vandy's campus and Stopped along the way down to Franklin at a few places in between.

My complaint about the downtown is the lack of variety. Mix in some cocktail bars, blues bars, jazz bars, beer bars, etc. Have some nice courtyard restaurants and bars, cafes, etc.
literally all of this is available. Printers Alley has one of the best Blues and Jazz clubs in the city. Basement East as well.
And there are beer bars throughout the entire city, particularly east Nashville and in the Gulch.

Atlanta metro is roughly 3x as big, and Nashville metro is batting below average for bad traffic for its size, anyway
I think Nashville is a great 2m person city, but therein lies the stupidity in trying to shite talk other cities that aren't comparable.

I just don't see how someone can visit Nashville and leave thinking there are only 2 streets to visit.
You have to be an exceptionally bad tourist to not find these other areas in Nashville. It's not as if they are hidden gems, or places "only the locals know about".

maybe people are confusing it with memphis. that place sucks.
Posted on 11/13/18 at 11:15 am to TH03
that would make more sense. There are only 2 streets to visit in Memphis, and you may get murdered walking from one to the other.

Let's be honest this is true for any city. People go to New Orleans and never get far beyond Bourbon, much less the FQ. People will come to Atlanta and never go north of MBS.
In short, I think there are a lot of exceptionally bad tourists.

Yup. I live in Austin and visited Nashville for a week in January and it's pretty evident the direction Nashville is headed. Pretty soon Portland, Austin, and Nashville are going to be the same places.

fair point. Atlanta is pretty big, though. I can see how one could get caught up in just an area or 2 of the city.
All the places I listed in Nash are within 15 min of each other, with most being within 5.

Love that area. It's just insanely expensive now. I lived there for a few years, between there and The Gulch and it was fun. No longer in my mid 20s though.
