my BiL owns Cobra and you can find some really great up-and-coming bands playing there.

I even found a New Orleans/ Louisiana themed bar in Franklin....cant remember the name...I sat there and had a few beers while the wife shopped up and down Main St

Papa Boudreauxs? He's from New Orlean, moved here after Katrina. One of the only places I've been outside of Louisiana that has legit cajun/creole food.

They werent open....this was for lunch..Embers was pretty solid...we just stumbled upon it...there was a pretty sweet looking place right across the street that we kept seeing a lot of people going in and out of...looked like it was pretty popular.

i'm 17.8 miles from downtown (straight down hillsboro pike) and i'm smack dab in the middle of the country. when the sun goes down its DARK and its safe and i can set up shooting targets in the woods behind my house.

So you don't live in Nashville. I can dig that.

Nashville is a good city. But if you're from pretty much any other city its easy to see why it's not all that amazing to you. Same is true for Austin IMO.

Practically every city in the country has revitalized its core and added greenspace, breweries and better dining/retail. I won't say Nashville is boring, it's not, but it's just a "good version" of something that is being done everywhere.

Right, I didn't hate it. I just also didn't see what's special or unique about it. Other than the country music scene, which is not necessarily my cup of tea. We were there for a long weekend, and I don't really have a desire to go back. I could see how it would be a decent place to live, though.

We stayed both in East Nashville and Downtown. We also like to explore cities when we're there, so it's not like we just walked down Broadway and said "this place sucks".

gotcha. Next time you go, I'm happy to give some tips. There are restaurants opening left and right, it's hard to keep up.

Butchertown Hall in Germantown is a new favorite of mine. Mother fricking meat.

I don't know why folks think living in the city would suck. I currently don't. But I did, and have friends with apartments downtown. It's fun as shite. Always something to do. Maybe that's part of the problem.

Traffic sucks no matter where you live for the most part.

I forgot about VooDoo, I've been once and it was awesome too. Sister took em there.

Didn't realize they brought in leidenheimers though. Now I'm hungry.
