A Facebook page is a weird place for stomach cancer to occur!

Might be a result of more awareness which leads to more people being diagnosed earlier.

There is more awareness, but many still don't get diagnosed until late. Many patients.

Some cancers that on the surface don’t appear to be related are in fact genetic “cousins”. Make sure you talk to a doctor about your family members’ diagnoses to confirm they are in fact unrelated. There could be a common genetic component that could be known with testing. If there is then testing could help identify family members with the genetic propensity for related cancers. If you or a family member have such a predisposition then there are special screening and surveillance schedules in order to identify any potential cancers as early as possible.

We took my mom to MD Anderson last year for her AML. They had a trial with an experimental treatment for chemo resistant AML. The doctor refused to let my mom in the trial. She was dead 6 weeks later.

Care to shed some light on this dark side?

Happens a lot, MD Anderson is a machine now. Treatment and selection is money driven and whether or not it will negatively effect their reported numbers.

I am sorry for your loss.

I don’t know the specifics of your mother’s illness, but clinical trials are extremely rigid in how they are administered. It could have happened just like you said but I t is more likely that there was something about your mom’s case that made her ineligible for that trial.

She might not have met the criteria for the trial which can be very strict. Very sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear. MDA is nothing short of spectacular in their treatments and care for their patients and their family members. A similar situation happened to my best friend five years ago. Unfortunately his cancer was too advanced as he was sent home within 24 hours of checking in. He died six weeks later also.

RIP EJW.

Simmer down Sally. Holly’s a good looking woman and knowing her would appreciate the gesture.

Sorry to hear that.

I too have had a similar situation. Many times MD Anderson is often not willing to "Try" as if they take a patient into their system for treatment and the patient dies, it negatively will effect their numbers. Hospitals are required to report patient outcomes, deaths etc while under their care. More deaths give the assumption of poor care.

MD Anderson has turned many people away, "nothing else we can do" only for them to seek treatment elsewhere and have a positive outcome.

Never understood stood why she and her husband stayed together. She made her money and he made his and she knew he was running around on her for years and I’m sure still is. Met the dude a couple of times when he was sleeping with the roommate my wife lived with 17 years ago.

How in the HELL did this fine specimen end up with Stomach Cancer of all things?

shite, im saying here and now, i believe wholeheartedly that the damn solar radiation management, aka Chemtrails are causing all the heavy amounts of cancer incidents that are statistically ridiculous.

Our food supply is a dump. Water is a urinal and air is pure toxic. We are freaked and i am satisfied with this fact.

One of the saddest places I've ever been was in the waiting room of an oncologist's office.
