I feel for you. Sounds like she needs to grow up. This is the problem in America. Nobody appreciates the things they do have, but love to bitch about the things they don't.
I hope you get your power back soon. Hang in there.

I have a great wife then, who expressed her gratefulness on social media of me doing all these things.

She’s been a trooper through this entire thing. Only downside is that she doesn’t want to live in Louisiana anymore. Which makes it hard because I know she isn’t happy here, but we will see if that road leads anywhere. Maybe, maybe not.
If she isn't happy there, leaving might be what's best. It sounds like no kids. Even if it's just for a year or two or three. If you want to go back, Louisiana will always be there.
There's a lot to see out there, even just domestically.

You picked a shitty wife who is spoiled and expects you to do everything for her. She should not only tend to the baby in this situation she should be doing the cooking and housework while you keep everything running.
Man up and tell her you’ve had enough, if she doesn’t want to pull her weight she can gtfo

It sounds like neither of them really wanted a baby either.

Come supper time, neither of them stepped up and it was their bright idea to go to a local restaurant at 6PM which just so happened to have a line out the door.
Can someone explain to me all of these people who can't throw together a single freaking dinner for their family? (Not saying this is your wife/mom, but something my mom and I have been bitching about all weekend)
I do probably 90% of the cooking because I love to do it, but all it takes is one phone call when I'm working late to my SO with instructions on the food I've defrosted and I come home to dinner cooked no questions asked. How is this something someone can't step up and do?
Several friends (male) are dealing right now with their wives/girlfriends not even taking over and feeding the family 1 measly day a week as a break. And they have kids! How can you do this?

Who knows. But it keeps the restaurant my husband works for in business, so it’s ok

Has OP's wife chimed in yet?

No idea! Feeding my family and friends is a labor of love. Not being able to put together a simple meal does not compute.

Wow. This was me for years, except I am a woman. ( no photos) I got a divorce. I'm not saying you should, but she definitely has some issues. Take care.

3. One that’ll be off to college in a year and a half and 11 and 8.
We’ve travelled quite a bit and we know the rest of the world is a much better place and there’s ton to see. There are some things here that have me tied to the area. Mentally working on breaking those restraints.

Been there done that with hurricane damage. Send the wife and kids to a relative for a week or more vacation. required about every 3-4 weeks.
This! If I were your wife, I'd be running like hell to a relative's house who actually has power. No need for her to go thru this hell with the baby. It's unreasonable for her to stay there.
Then you can enjoy this personal hell in peace.

Do you have school aged kids? If so, they will remember, and mimic how you deal with this adversity. Hopefully y’all get power back soon brother.

Just the hormones talking bro. Hang in there and weather this new storm.

This is why I’m divorced right now. No matter what you do, it’s NEVER enough.
