Feel for you and appalled at the selfish and ungrateful family you got in your life. Hope things get better for you. Regardless, either way, this storm gave you some divine intervention

Understatement of the year.

I did not get power back till Saturday afternoon.

Ida will be the worst and best thing that ever happened to me when I write my story of life one day.

Issac was when mine told me she wanted a divorce.

Something about hurricanes and no power. I wonder how many divorces have finally come to a head during hurricanes?

Might be a decent topic

Holy shite man. Hate that it turned out that way for you. Your step daughter sounds kinda trashy, to be honest. The mother in law is always going to take her daughters and granddaughters side, though, whether she believes they are right or not. Don’t fault the mother in law too much, you’d do the same for your child and grandchild too. The wife sounds very unsupportive though. Hopefully things cool down and y’all see eye to eye again.

Well said and great job you’re doing.
In the same “boat” as you.
I have SIL, BIL, MIL & FIL. Gonna be a few weeks before they’re able to go home.
I keep telling myself at least I’m in my house.

From Monday thru Thursday I was busy nonstop cleaning up from the hurricane, hauling the shite to the road for pickup. I stay sweaty and sticky (and stinky) all day and the last to shower at night, only to wake up first thing in the morning to take care of the generator and get drenched in sweat again. Each day and night I’m making sure the generator has gas, checking oil, changing oil, waiting in line for gas, etc. and every available moment during the day I fall asleep. Once the family goes to bed at night, I find myself staying awake thinking about insurance claims on the house and vehicle, money associated with those claims, costs, etc. and just can’t sleep. Of course, this just makes the daytime sleepy time that much worse. Add to that a wife who’s growing less and less patient with the power outage by the hour, waiting on her to absolutely lose her ever living shite on me over something trivial, and her constant bitching that I’m not helping enough with the baby who won’t fall asleep at night because of the change in routines and us all sleeping in the same room during this.

As if I’m not doing enough already, but of course she doesn’t see it that way. All I hear is how we need to switch to a whole house generator (after I spent $1,600 last year on a generator and interlock kit) because what we have is apparently not enough for her and that I’m a piece of shite father because the baby is glued to her day and night. I can’t help the fact that the baby doesn’t want anything to do with me right now - I don’t have the tits. Because of me my family has a cool (actually sometimes cold) room to sleep in at night, nothing in the fridge/freezer has spoiled, she has hot water to bathe in each night, we have zero need for flashlights, we have WiFi for her precious Instagram and tiktok, tv, and food to cook and eat every day - that I cook. I’m a sack of shite, though, because the baby only wants her at night instead of me.

Your wife sounds like a sociopath. I’m not saying she’s going to, but she’s probably capable of having you killed and using the insurance money to move away from hurricane alley. The kid would then be a hindrance to her starting a new life and would be disposed of in the most foul and heartless manner. Again, I’m not saying this will happen, just that it’s likely and you should continue staying awake at night and whenever she’s around.

Yall make me appreciate the worst batching I've heard is "it's hot let's go get drinks at a restaurant " as she has helped with cleanup, picked up gas, and even cut the yard while I was dealing with the roof...

My grandmother on my mother's side famously told my mom she'd take my dad's side in the divorce

Jeez seems we're all in the same boat. My new ex girlfriend thought she'd get the law involved. The deputy was not pleased with her. Told her to quit being a baby. Even better is when she claimed she was not allowed in my house. Without skipping a beat the deputy says "I just saw you walk out of the house".

Im glad she is a now ex.. If she called the cops on you.. Thats messed up.
