HOA reportedly wants full-size Halloween candy banned for ‘fairness’ — neighbors on X have other ideas
A viral HOA letter reportedly asks a homeowner to stop handing out full-size Halloween candy bars so neighbors offering smaller treats won’t feel disadvantaged.
The supposed solution? Stick to fun-size candy and keep the trick-or-treating experience consistent.
X users responded with a delicious rebellion: Double the full-size bars, upgrade to king-size, and “Become ungovernable.”
America has survived wars, economic disasters, and Washington politicians. But apparently, there’s a new threat to civilization: A homeowner handing out a full-size Snickers bar on Halloween.
And somewhere, a homeowners association reportedly wants to put a stop to it.
A viral October 14 X post has ignited a wonderfully American rebellion after a homeowner shared what he claimed was a letter from his HOA asking him to stop distributing full-size candy bars to trick-or-treaters.
The apparent offense? Other homeowners might not be able to afford the bigger candy, and the neighborhood wants to keep the Halloween experience consistent.
Yes, we’ve apparently reached the point where even Halloween candy needs an equity policy.
The X user, posting as Atchy, explained the economics of the alleged candy controversy. Fun-size bars typically cost about 15 to 25 cents each, he estimated, while full-size bars run approximately 75 cents to a dollar.
Since some households already give children two or three fun-size pieces, he argued that the actual difference in spending might be surprisingly small.

Please, dear God, tell me that a lot of other neighbors will now be handing out full size bars because of the pussy.

Eventually they will be reduced to only giving out that shite peanut butter candy in those waxy orange and black wrappers.

I would find the biggest sized and largest packs of candy and advertise it if my HOA did something so woke and moronic.
Luckily I live on a lake in AL so my HOA is not made up of pearl clutching idiots.

Little in life is greater than handing a young kid a full sized candy bar during trick or treat and watching their reaction.

Could not imagine living in a neighborhood with an HOA. I have enough problems in life to deal with that bullshite.

Our HOA banned men wearing speedos at the community pool for the same reason.

Some HOAs suck, some are okay.
I don't believe there's a single fricking chance in Hell the HOA can dictate the size of candy bar one chooses to handout.
The shite HOAs are the ones where assholes like this believe they have more power than they actually do.

My lord people are such pussies today.

Maybe the neighborhood residents would have more disposable income for full size candy if not for stupid hall monitor "dues".

Can HOA's be dicks, yes. But I find it hard to believe someone called muffinsnsuch on X.

frick them. If somebody wants to give away whole boxes of candy, it ain't none of their business. They're more worried about trying to keep up with the Jones's instead of the enjoyment of the kids, which is what it's supposed to be about, right?
