Wife is a nurse in Ohio. We have a severe shortage of P95 masks for nurses and doctors. Nurses are having to reuse them.
I've spent the last couple hours trying to find P95 type respirators to buy for her and her friends at the hospital. You can't even find regular P95 disposable masks online. We aren't even hit that hard yet and there is a critical shortage. You can imagine what states with high COVID-19 cases are going through right now.
If you have any extra P95 masks, due to your job as a painter/auto body etc. please donate them to hospitals.
Not to be a doomsdayer but
if the nurses and doctors get sick or die, some have already, then it's all over. There will be no one to treat COVID-19 patients let alone patients who are already in the hospital for cancer, heart surgeries etc.
Not even joking around.

I thought I saw on the news the govt was releasing warehoused supplies from NIH like this to hospitals in need.
I know the wheels of govt turn slow but the news made it seem like this was happening soon.

I am a Nurse. It can be scary to deal with infectious patients on a regular basis and this lack of PPE is downright criminal. I don't know if there is a shorterm answer to this.

I work for the largest medical distributor in the world. We typically average 75k in monthly stock across all varieties of masks.
Last week - 1.7 million masks were ordered. For us, this is a complete nightmare. We have around a million in route, which is the equivalent of over a year of stock, and we wont even fill half our backorders.
