Leah is my first cousin. We are the same age, within a year. I hope this person is caught, but regardless, it is a very strange feeling her being so young and my family member.
I am sorry. I am praying for you and your family.

I know an a-hole alcoholic that lives in that general area who drives a Dodge Ram.
Ride by and check for a missing mirror! Somebody from the OT can solve this!

Also, between the Exxon at Hoo shoo too.
, nursing none, and strip mall, one of those business should have cameras.
Unless something has changed, None of those show the intersection well, unless the driver pulled into one of their lots to survey damage. A friend of mine was involved in a red light running accident there last fall and none of the cameras showed the wreck.

That's a couple of miles from Highland/Old Jefferson intersection. Across from Azalea Lakes.

This makes you wonder if the driver was drunk. There’s no way the driver didn’t know that they hit someone, there’s no way. The person potentially drove away knowing if they stayed and the cops arrived shortly thereafter, they were going to jail.

If she was an old black woman none of y'all would give a shite. This happens almost monthly on airline highway or Florida near the homeless shelter.
You are correct. People care about things that they can relate to, doesn’t make them bad people. An old black woman who lives near Florida Blvd doesn’t care about this story.

WTF is she doing walking the wrong way in the pitch dark at 10 pm at night? Now the poor bastard that hit her's life is ruined too.
Absolutely, she put herself in a dangerous situation by doing so. But if you hit someone, even if they run in front of your car, you cannot leave the scene. It’s her fault for being in a dangerous spot and it’s the driver’s fault for fleeing.

I would, but my care doesn't really mean much.

Pure genius.

I wonder if the person she was arguing with and let her get out of the car to walk down a poorly lit two lane, feels like an a-hole now? Makes you wonder what she was mad about to get out and walk. I know you cant control other people but leaving someone on the side of the road is a terrible decision. That's all irrelevant though.
It seems this was a tragic accident that turned criminal when the drive fled. The driver now deserves everything coming their way when they are located.

Knowing that area, the only people I see walking the road, especially at night, are strung out trashy white people who grew up in the area and never left but are now just bottom barrel druggies with drama and issues. Weed, pills, and meth contribute to many.
I don’t know the woman and I understand the people who know her will bash me for this statement, and they may or may not be correct, I don’t know. I’m not speaking of the woman, I’m speaking of what I see in the area doing what she was doing.

In the video posted last night, she got into an argument with her friends in the car and demanded to be let out. That doesn't mean they left her and drove off. From what I understand, quite the opposite.
As her dad said, it was not a good decision she made. We've all (especially us young girls) been in situations where we are being dramatic and not making the best decision when emotions are high. We can acknowledge this while still hoping for the person who fled to come forward. That's really the important part at this point. We know what tragically took place.

I casually knew her. That's to say I knew her first name, but not her last name. Would see her around town a couple of times a month for the last year or so. I actually saw her about 5 hours before this happened. Rest in peace.

I was driving down my street once and was destracted and hit a mailbox with my mirror. It made a loud sound and my mirror gave way so there was no damage to mailbox or mirror. Maybe the person who hit her did not know?? I know that is wishful thinking. Her poor family.
