I have a 2012 Ford F-150 with 422,000 miles...and I change the oil every 30,000 miles. Original motor.

The only major problem I had was the electric power stearing went out at about 400,000 miles.

Thats 50k+ a year!
What kind of oil do you use?
What about replacing ball joints, struts, sway arms etc?

Jody,

serious question. I'm inheriting my uncle's 2014 F150 and no NOTHING about it (not even in the same city I'm in) and i am a bit reluctant to give up my beloved 4runner.

but it sounds like this might actually be a decent vehicle given how many miles you've put on it.

do you do a lot of highway driving? I'm guessing so with that kind of mileage over such a short period of time.

My first girlfriend in high school.

I thought she was "the one" but after we broke up she seemed to be "the one" for anyone who had a few free minutes of time to pay attention to her.

Although, I never really owned her. I just rented her for a six months.

Husband has a Ford F-250. Was his for the farm and then our sons first vehicle and it's back on the farm.

1999 -- nearly 250k miles -- oil changed and tire rotations about all that was ever done. Oh and cleaned out the A/C himself and got a five gallon bucket of dust out. Lol A/C worked much better after that.

Still have a 2003 expedition with 198500 miles on it -- almost 17yo dtr drives it as her first vehicle. Kids all had hand me downs but her turn for "new" is coming.

'96 4Runner that I got rid of at 189k miles (I put about 120k of that on it). Had a 2000 Suburban that made it to similar mileage, but sold it to my little brother around 150k. Since then I graduated college and haven't bought a used car since, so the highest mileage vehicle in our house is the '13 Prius with 80k on it.

94 accord/5speed/stock with 350K+ and ran perfect when sold. What impressed me the most is I flogged the heck out of that car daily for several years. Redlining it, driving like an idiot and generally beating it up driving around NOLA, BR and Dallas. I even advanced the timing way up and ran 50/50 gas/toluene one time to see if it would be faster and it just took the abuse like a porn star with 10 gallons of lube. That car was indestructible.

I’ve had a bunch of cars with 200k plus miles and a few with over 300k. All ran great when I sold them, 1 was totaled in a car accident. Mobile 1 changed every 5k and keep up with routine maintenance is all I ever do.
