In case you haven't noticed too many have already.

Those of us who are staying want better for EBR. SG is a way to do this.

I’m pretty torn on this. I live in mid city so for selfish reasons I don’t want it to pass but I also sympathize with the residents of SBR and see where they are coming from. I wish we didn’t have to split the city and would just let them have the schools district they want

The city won't be "split". Folks in SG will be doing what folks in BR did decades ago, incorporate.

St George isn't in the City now. EBR should have given them their own ISD when they had the chance.

Good call. We have to keep EBR and NOLA schools as fricked as possible.

There will be a special election if the names are legit. His only role is picking the day of the election. My guess is the earliest it could be is next October same day as the governor’s and leg races. It’ll take a few weeks to certify everything and don’t be surprised about the lawsuits that will be filed over everything.

I’m guessing I just didn’t get a follow up email or something telling me further information. All I received was an email thanking me. Guess I’ll be going in person tomorrow

I'm with you. I'd vote no, also. Someone is going to have to support North Baton Rouge. I'd rather it be EBR Parish rather than other parts of the state

They can't start charging you local or parish taxes if you don't live here. You are already supporting them otherwise

Weak troll Gaucho. You've been slipping for a while now.
I'm starting to seriously doubt that you're even black.

I’m wondering why they don’t just stay in the BR and focus their efforts their own school district. What are the schools like now. If these are affluent areas, shouldn’t the schools be decent already?

I believe the kids from any area can go to any schools with EBR.

One would think but that's not how it works here. This is John Parker's legacy. Forced bussing in the 80s and 90s turned all of the non magnet BR schools to shite.

Do they really force busing? I saw one school inside St George that was rated a 10 out of 10, so some of the schools must be decent.
