Can somebody explain this to a non-native?

Years ago LA politicians were so corrupt and basically stealing money from city services that they decided to form dedicated taxing districts to stop this from happening. City services like the Library, Council on Aging, CATS, Mosquito. Abatement, BREC(maybe some others I’m missing) would now get specific tax renewals every year and the money could not be used for anything else but those specific services.

Fast forward to now and these entities are so flush with funds they have more money than they know what to do with. A couple(Library & Mosquito Abatement) actually provide good services to citizens and use the money well. Others (COA, BREC, & CATS)are rife with the same corruption those tax districts were created to avoid.

They do it every where. It’s part of the CFB environment now. This isn’t the 90s anymore grandpa

This is false. I watch SEC games every weekend and I’m amazed at how much the bands for Georgia or Alabama or Tennessee play compared to ours and how much louder they are than ours. Yes every stadium has some piped in music but we have gotten out of control with it and removed one of the things that makes college football great: the bands.
You have to put in Curne in at one of the tackle positions. You have to do it.
I had hope for the mayor but everything I’ve seen with him it’s almost all events in NBR. I am a believer that in order to get young people to stay in BR which is the key to its future you need to make the good areas great and not try to make the bad areas mediocre.

There are still lots of really nice neighborhoods in BR but you need to take those areas and focus on making them more attractive to young professionals.
Yep it’s no coincidence that the two years we’ve had the most success at the new ballpark, 2017 & 2023, are the years when the wind was blowing out which is abnormal for the new ballpark

I am not a person that believes you should never bunt as there is absolutely a place for it. However we have wasted so many outs this year on bunts
Ari literally said in one of the episodes I didn’t sign you cause I thought you were a great actor I signed you cause I thought you were a movie star

Edinburgh is an amazing city. The weather is terrible though. We went in August and it barely got to 60 and was windy and on/off rain the whole time so be prepared.

The Witchery is a great restaurant and I would definitely at minimum do a tour of the highlands if not spend a night up there.

You have to have a very specific modern style house for this to work and most don’t and it looks so bad. Ground up lighting always looks so much better.

Has anyone been here yet since they changed the name/concept to Brasserie?

Some changes to the food menu but a lot of the old staples. The cocktail menu has much more options and the atmosphere is way better. I’d go back again.
Just got back from the same trip. Loved London and thought Paris was cool but not what I expected.

Dishoom is great if you want to try Indian food in London. Don’t be afraid to use the subway(they call it the tube). It’s cheap, mostly clean, and efficient and some of the stations are really unique.

Spend a half day/day in the Montmartre area of Paris. Cool neighborhood.

Vinny ironically was the worst mainstay actor of the series.

I think that was kinda the point. Ari even says in one episode he didn’t sign him cause he thought he was a great actor he signed him cause he thought he was a movie star

The Witchery
Costa Rica. Enjoyed it and never really felt unsafe but felt uncomfortable most of the time. Not what I want on vacation.
