Outside of people around here, most will just see "Do you support the formation of the City of St. George" and will mindlessly vote yes.
I'm gonna vote yes just bc I want to see the world burn

Do you live in the proposed city limits? If not. No vote for you.

My house is about a half mile inside of the city limits. My kid is already in 6th grade so I probably wouldn't pull her out of private school anyway at this point. I hope it passes. We can always move if we want to.

Like I'm gonna let that stop me.

What's with the random stretch of road going beyond I-12?
Posted on 10/11/18 at 11:48 am to BlackCoffeeKid
That's the Amite River
Only guess I have is that they want to own the bank of the river to keep it maintained since everything downstream runs along their eastern border.

Looks like the new one does not include the Mall and the retail areas on Siegen. Does that have something to do with sales tax going to BR instead of SG? (forgive my ignorance on this topic)

They requested to be annexed by BR

SWB and her cronies have annexed as much as they can into BR in order to try and derail the St George effort

City property taxes won't be enacted unless voters of SG decide to raise them. The same thing with school taxes if an ISD comes to pass.
Now if the Library Board, BREC or the C-P Council wants to raise taxes and the parish AS A WHOLE votes to raise taxes; they would go up.
But city property taxes won't go up unless SG voters raise them. It's a scare tactic.

Nothing they can do about that. Kenilworth is in the city limits. As is Bocage, Tara and other decent to nice areas.

Together Baton Rouge planted several hundred people who signed and then asked to have their signatures removed.

I live in New Orleans and I will be voting against this. I just do not see it as good for the region or the state as a whole.

Who knows. BR has raised taxes 18 times in the last 20 years I think.
