Flaming arrow (a la Dukes of Hazzard) to the offending vehicle in the middle of the night. Plausible deniability without any witnesses. Also, Mk67 or Mk68 grenades might work well, but flaming arrows are easier to obtain.

Of course, you could also play opera in the middle of the night at full volume. That'd prolly make the punk kill himself.

Hey. I’m the 25 year old cranking my subwoofer in the driveway across the street from your in-laws.

Tell your father-in-law to stop mowing the grass at 7am, and I in turn will stop playing Mo Bamba at 110 decibels.

Deal?

Get a cheap CB setup inside house- hide antenna (a truck one will be fine) out of site- back yard, perhaps mounted to the eave of a shed. You won’t need a tower for this exercise. Or screw it- FIL just got a new hobby. Put it wherever.

Get a linear amplifier for the CB- not a cheap one- about 500W ought to be enough.

Every time junior bumps his rig, FIL or MIL keys up the mic on the CB. The linear will overpower anything in the general vicinity with static. They can even say stuff if they want- kid will never know.

But I promise you- a few times of static sounds on a once functional car stereo will have him pulling it all out with the quickness to see what’s wrong.

I had my amps and sub stolen when I was in high school. I worked for me. I opted not to reup in the bass game.

Eta: head unit too

If he sits in the driveway playing the music, stand on the sidewalk in front of their house, videoing him with your phone. Remain silent. He will start by asking what you’re doing and quickly get irritated by the silent treatment and attack you. When he does, call the police and report the battery.

Have someone videoing you from the safety of your house to provide more evidence once you start getting attacked.

If you want to inflict some instant justice, bring some pepper spray and let him have it only after he batters you. Don’t make any threats. Stay silent. Stay on the sidewalk. If police have been called already, a history has already been established; the cops will take the kid away in cuffs.

This is when owning an air raid siren comes in handy. See how long they would put up with that noise.
