Everything you are saying is entirely your belief.
It's as dumb as saying God helped you win a game, an Oscar or some award. Yet if he did that, then he also allowed the Jews to be killed, allowed the earthquakes, tsunamis and plagues. But hey, he helped you on that test.
God is a hold over from a time when thinking was outlawed.
If we didn't indoctrinate our children and let them choose as adults it would have already withered.
Most believe because they were forced into that denomination with no choice.

I’m a Catholic convert from Southern Baptist. I 1000% believe that Catholicism is the true Christian religion and its teachings are what the earliest churches taught.
Nah, the Catholic faith adds its own teachings on top of the Bible, Martin Luther got it right by breaking away from the Catholic Church. Thank God for that.

The devil does exist. It is something that is no longer taught to the degree it should be. Your statement is proof. Modern religion has done a poor job in the last 20 years reinforcing that fact. Catholic teachings are now realizing this and are changing.

Well...first off, you suck at math.

Why do you feel sorry for an adult who uses their mind and makes their own decisions?

Imagine being a great Christian, praying, converting friends and neighbors. Then you die......and find out the Mormons are the only true faith.
The difference between a cult and a religion, is a cult is stated by a guy who says he has the connection with God. In a religion, that guys dead.

Sorry you lost me when you converted TO Catholicism. You clearly have very little understanding of the Bible. It’s a religion for the masses to make them feel better. It doesn’t even promote the most important aspects of the Bible.

Be a follower of Christ, accept him as your savior, and ask for forgiveness of your sins. If you die and find out hell is real, it would really suck to have not been a follower of Christ.
The Catholic church teaches its entirely possible to go to heaven without being baptized or confirmed, fwiw.

Cause of his religious beliefs?
Do you feel sorry for those who have nothing to eat or fear for their lives daily? Or are those people drains on society and not worth your "feeling sorry"?
That's the real question of living your life the right way...

The truth.
If you'd been born in Syria chances are you'd be bowing down to Allah.

I feel sorry for you. You lost the ability of free thought. You only believe your belief to be true. Yet there are thousands of beliefs you don't believe. Should I feel sorry for you?
Heaven was invented at a time when 99% of the people had shitty lives, no property no ambition no hope. All of a sudden you tell people "when you die everything can either get much better or can be even worse than this".
Of course at that point religion is the only escape.
Though you still didn't have a choice. Belonging to the wrong faith was a death sentence up until just a few hundred years ago in the West. Think about that. If your path is so good, why were my ancestors forced into it by the sword.
I personally don't want to live forever. I live my life now. When I die, my life is over.
That's what I believe. I don't believe in magic.
Then there is Leviticus, I can't follow any book that included that filth.

uhhh....Mormons believe a guy went in to some mountains and came down with some gold tablets that had god's word on them. True Christians don't believe any crazy nonsense like that.
wait a minute....

If good people go to hell them the system is flawed.
It is not flawed at all. It is very simple. Accept Jesus and admit that you are not perfect by asking for forgiveness for your sins. Non Christians love to point out all of the flaws and sins of Christians like they are decoding something. True Christians laugh at this because they know they are not perfect but they ask God for help and for forgiveness of their sins..
Doing good deeds and being a good person as a way to enter salvation is an Islamic belief. Of course they don’t believe in Heaven they believe in the Paradise.

How? Why? There's nothing beautiful about it.
Because it forces you to live the only life you get. You don't waste your time looking forward to a fictional, childish fairy land where everything will be wonderful.

Yep. I read the Bible. He's really so much worse than God.

However, my struggle is the concept that God isn’t real.
What you are dealing with is a problem with your concept of God. If your concept is a white man with a grey beard sitting in a big chair on a cloud, you will eventually reject that concept as your mind becomes more sophisticated and mature. Some scholarly Catholicism moves farther away from simple concepts of God to the more expansive view that it’s ok to not be able to actually wrap your human brain around it all. What we have is 3500 years of humans doing their best to explain it.
There is an interesting book by Karen Armstrong called A History of God which discusses the ways in which God has been described and portrayed over the last 4000 years. It’s amazing how much the concept of God has changed. It’s a very fluid concept.
Get beyond that issue and you might begin to view science as a proper vehicle to observe and describe the immense glory of creation. God and science are not opposed at all. Anyone who suggests that they are is diverting your attention from the truth of the great universe made here to explore, dinosaurs and all.
