I am being honest when I say I have no idea, but this thread has mentioned Cat 3 and 4 the last few pages.

I am just trying to figure out what is what.

Some of the forecasting has it as a possible tight, strong Cat 4.. some forecast has it as a disorganized Cat 1. Too soon to tell!

Levi with a good synopsis of what we've been talking about and watching over the past few days.

The seedling of a tropical cyclone is likely taking shape in the western Caribbean. Low-level rotation is aggregating off the coast of Nicaragua/Honduras as an upper-level trough to the north aids large-scale deep convection (thunderstorms) in the area. Odds favor a tropical depression or storm forming east of the Yucatan Peninsula on Monday or Tuesday. The storm would likely be named #Helene.

This initial location would favor a storm track northward into the eastern half of the Gulf of Mexico as a longwave trough digs into the south-central US. Eastern #Mexico, western #Cuba, and the #CaymanIslands could see impacts on Tuesday/Wednesday, with heavy rains already spreading into the Caymans today.

The eastern gulf coast of the southeastern U.S. should be preparing for impacts from a possible hurricane spreading northward during Wednesday-Friday this week. Environmental conditions will be imperfect but will likely still favor intensification. The eventual track of this expected storm will not become clear until it actually forms in a day or two, but by that time, there may only be a couple days of time to prepare.

I'll probably begin video updates on this system Monday morning.

Estimated center of 97L is 15.3N 83.2W

That is just NE of Nicaragua / Honduras Border.

Mike’s Weather Page has been giving all sorts of scenarios for days on this but is saying he won’t post the latest GFS run.

That’s just fear mongering for clicks

He’s been posting model runs for 4-5 days now. He’s been going live on Twitter the last few nights showing all the model runs.

Exactly. He shared the 12z EURO and said he wouldn’t share the 12z GFS.

Oh, but he’ll be live later.

Live look at me on mornings when I wake up and don't see relatively recent updates from RDS, Duke, Legend , or near real-time graphics from Bobby, Slack and others always sharing useful information.

I’m the opposite if there’s not much going on in this thread then that means the threat is minimized for the state

To each their own but he’s really such a goober. No one should use him for important information. He has no meteorological background. He’s pretty much using the professionals information and plugging it into his website.

Last time I was out of town, Francine made landfall and we had to reroute through Jackson to get home.

This time, we have a weekend in Huntsville (music fest) under the gun. I’m tired of traveling.

My last two months have been nothing but work and on the road.
