Is Destin gonna get any of this? Have a cousin who was supposed to take his family there this week-weekend

Some wind and a little rain (probably not much rain, honestly). Worst of it is well to the east of Destin.

Hurricane #Helene on its present short-term heading will probably move ashore in Taylor County, #Florida in the coming hours. The eyewall is about 45 miles wide and could strike several of the towns in the area. There is hope for the eyewall to miss Tallahassee to the east, but we'll see. This will be a rough night for many even outside the eyewall. Hope everyone stays safe.

It’s wet and windy but not dangerous so far.

They expect clear conditions starting tomorrow mid day.

Looks like the poor folks in Perry get hammered again.

I have a bad feeling Helene will make Idalia look like it was a tropical storm.

Okay good. I mean it sucks for those to the east and my heart goes out to them but I'm glad my kin is safe if they went.

Beautiful little family with little ones.

I forget how fricking huge Florida is sometimes

Neighbors have a place in Steinhatchee. Think we may have missed our chance to go down there to fish. May be headed there this weekend to help him salvage whats left in the debris.

Was he the one whose car died or got trapped and he broke into a house near water that was rising all around him?

He probably used the free Uber offer. They're paying bill for anyone needing evac to a shelter.

Yes. I think they found a house that people were in. His dash cam was still streaming as the car started to float.

That’s not how it works

But she still has a couple hours over the gulf. Might make a run at Cat 5
