Man sure looks like it has bended little left lately and may bring that western eyewall dangerously close to Tallahassee

Eye is 35 land (statute) miles wide but open in the south which seems a little strange for such a strong storm.

I think you’re thinking of Brett Adair. He was the one almost killed in Mexico Beach.
I remember this one. We watched the storm surge come in. I think he ran upstairs to a beach home and left his truck.

The last position update changed the heading from 25 degrees to 20 degrees - so maybe the northward turn has started??
every 5 or 10 miles makes a big difference when you are talking the interior or exterior edge of eyewall and onshore vs offshore wind and surge.

Looks to take a hard NE turn at the end. Tallahassee should be ok

That has become the calling card for this storm. I think there is plenty to study with the evolution of this one.

Right after he tried to molest the alligator just chilling in the side of the road.
That was such a day…

North Atlanta burbs checking in.
No wind yet.
2 inches of rain with the front yesterday 4.4 inches so far today. Rain was steady all day but not heavy. Now coming down at 2 inches/hour.
Rainfall estimates sure seem like they will verify

I have family in Lakeland. They both just lost power. Crazy that far away.
