Useless but slightly interesting fact. Heinz are so tired of restaurants and cafés refilling their bottles with non-Heinz ketchup to ‘fool customers’ that they’ve developed a label sticker where the outer border matches the exact color of genuine Heinz ketchup. If it matches (left), it’s the real deal. If it doesn’t (right), it’s condiment fraud.

when I was in a restaurant in Europe when I asked for ketchup they would bring you a mini heinz bottle. They would charge you half euro, but you got fresh ketchup

Well made real ketchup, which looks nothing really like the stuff in mass produced bottles, is pretty damn awesome.
We lightly roast homegrown tomatoes, garlic, and onion in EVOO. Put that with a bit of brown sugar, vinegar, and a couple other things in a blender.
Its really good and really cheap to make. It is real food so it does separate in the fridge and has to be remixed with a spoon.
