Spacing is as important as the number of kids. I've got 3 kids all three years apart.

I wouldn't want less, but I wouldn't want more.

Yellow,

Is it not true that the estimated cost of one child 0-18 1 million dollars??

Yeah, I don't think that's true at all.

I have 2 under 3. Both girls.

Daycare runs us about 22k a year. Oldest is finally mostly out of diapers, but they were both/still are on the expensive formula and Prilosec for reflux.

Daycare + diapers + $40 formula (lasts 5 days) + $40 for Prilosec = pain.

We are at the doctor at least once a month for each of them, then for ourselves when they give us whatever they have. Last month we spent $630 on copays and prescriptions from them being sick.

Wife wants a third, I want to get them out of daycare and buy a lake house. We make great money and I can't even fathom how we could afford a third.

It is hard enough trying to keep one in line so he isn't "that kid" at the restaurant. You get a group of kids together they are kinda like coyotes howling at the moon, as one starts the others start acting the same.
Nah, that has nothing to do with number of kids. That's a parenting issue. (I'm talking about letting them roam around the restaurant etc, I hate that shite)

Number three is our family jewel, the most positive happy family member. She's our family mascot , our family joker/people pleaser and her older siblings adore her. So I can't imagine life without her. But it will definitely be a logistics issue with hotel rooms, meals, the car you drive, etc. just know that going in. The older kids were a great help- the three of them are all born in a five year span.

That's the real problem.

Space them out, people.

I guess, but it's certainly not any easier to keep 3+ kids in line.

It's the least I could do for you people. We need more children of productive, successful married people in this world.

Maybe so but there's also the dynamic of the younger one learning from the older one I guess.

The Mrs and I are discussing having a 3rd. Not sure if we want to have another. The two we have are already expensive enough. I hate to put it that way, but we don't want to put a strain on our family financially by adding another child. If we were to have one in 9 months we'd have a 7yr old and a 21 month old.

One of my baws put it like this: you have to switch from man-to-man defense to zone.

My oldest brother has 7. I wouldn't even know what to do with that many. But they've done a really good job raising those kids, and there are so many, they have home grown babysitters, and get to do stuff by themselves all the time. Plus they seem to have a lot of fun having a big family like that now that they are all 10 yrs old and up.

Great point. And when they start driving you have built-in errand and carpool services.
