Jeeze going all out with the minor guys frick I don't even know who this cat is.

Well let's see... He was an alcoholic. Fought in the boxer rebellion and banana wars... Fought down In Honduras..

I'd have to do some research into those events but I'm sure I could find some racist shite he said/did in at least one of those.

Can we go a little farther back into history guys? shite

What on earth have any of the statue supporters produced as a result of opposing removal?

Changed any hearts or minds?

Slavery has been around since the dawn of time and still practiced today. You simply can't put modern day morality on people from a different era.

As to treason. Uhhhhhh leaving the union wasn't treason.

Its a shame removing statues doesnt make the inner city murder rates go down

Since removing the statues from New Orleans there have been fewer murders in all but one month. A 30% reduction in murders over the previous year span. Almost 40 fewer murders.

Meanwhile St Tammany Parish has a skyrocketing murder rate.

I willing to say an absence of legal conviction does not equate them being innocent of an act.

They don't have to walk down the street and see symbols of hate? I'd call that a result.

And to the other poster....who ever claimed that removing the statues would solve crime? That would be like filling the potholes and complaining that high school dropout rates weren't lowered as a result

And I say you are tilting at windmills, judging people from over 150 years ago by todays standards.

Those statues have been standing nearly that long and didn't do a damn thing to any of you precious snowflakes who are afraid of inanimate objects.

Every time I pull out my wallet I quiver in fear of those racist and horrible men on my currency.

Every time I look at Mt Rushmore, all I can think about is the countless native Americans who were cast aside because of those men engraved in that mountain.

Every time I read a history book, I just can't even. I just sit there and weep as flashback after flashback comes back to me over the countless atrocities we Americans allowed in our past.

Woe is me. Woe is me. Woe is me.

Yea what month were they removed. How do the following months compare to trends (of the same months) for the last 10 years. How do murder rates compare in cold and hot months. Stats only mean something if you dig deep.

Your ignorance is that you believe all of this is done from a point of fear.

The White House, Monticello, The Hermitage, Harvard University etc ect were all built partially with slave labor, housed slaves and housed treasonous, slave Owning Leaders.

They should be torn down to erase their horrible and evil histories, right? I mean, after all, having ones home preserved as a museum for posterity is a much bigger honor than a simple statue, right?
