Sure do. I never said he fought a war to keep it intact.
So why give a man who founded a country where slavery is legal a pass? Slavery was just as evil in 1776 as it was 100 years later.
Shouldn't some of the burden be laid at the feet of the man who helped found a country where slavery is legal?
And no fricking shite it wasn't just Washington. But as the defacto leader he could have nipped it in the bud.

I don't think people give him a "pass" per se. There is just a legitimate argument to keep a statue of someone like Washington over someone dressed in confederate battle gear on a obelisk.
