Yes, 2 people. One died a few years ago, but not from it. He had cancer. The HIV probably didn't help though.

Other is doing well and otherwise healthy. HIV treatment has come a LONG way and it's no longer the death sentence it used to be. He's had it about 20 years now.

Yes. In the 90s when it was really heart breaking and there weren't as many doctors to treat patients.

Know several now and the meds make all the difference. It's not a death sentence, thank goodness.

I knew a guy when I was in high school. Cool guy but everyone knew he was gay except him. He finally came out a couple years later.

Fast forward 13 years after that and I see his obituary posted on Facebook. I was shocked and started making some calls and sending some texts to find out what happened to him. I was expecting an accident or something.

Turns out he had AIDS.
