I never knew anyone who was close to me, but I knew a few people who have died, who had AIDS.
There was one person who know one knew for sure if that person had it (they didn't tell anyone), but it was pretty obvious.
Why?

Yeah. Gay AND an intravenous drug user. Bad combo. Dead years ago, unfortunately

How did she get it?
She was cheating on my brother, so possibly from that, or a tattoo.
My brother, thank God didn’t contract it, nor did my niece.

Yes. One of my roommates had it when I was a bike messenger in San Fransisco. I picked my nose and ate his peanut butter, and they kicked me out, even though he was the one with the deadly, communicable disease. It was bullshite then, and it's bullshite now. His boyfriend, Sean, was cool though. I upperdecked every toilet in the house before I left. I regret nothing.

My wife's friend had a gay brother with full blown aids. People avoided him like the plague and he lived a lonely life until he died. I felt sorry for him so I reached out to him and spent time with him, hugged his neck etc. I am I die hard, conservative Baptist but I still struggle with gay people. I believe they are either born that way or they are possessed with a sexual demon. Either way, men and women with this disease need love and compassion and shouldn't be treated as any less of a person. Seeing it up close it is very difficult to watch. Only the rich get to function normally in society.

Almost upvoted you until I got to this part.
Tops are happy-go-lucky great guys. Bottoms are possessed with sexual demons.

What's all this monkey business in here about? I'm green with envy.

Had a brother-in-law that died of AIDS from sharing needles when he was into shooting heroin. He did that crap for about 5 years and it not only took him down, but most of the folks he was shooting with.
Also had a distant cousin who was gay that died of AIDS in the late 80's before they had decent medicines to help with the disease. He went quick too.
I saw him about 6 months before he died and he looked normal. By the time he died, he was not much more than skin and bones and covered in sores from what his family told me.

It is very, very rare for a straight white male who doesn't take injections in his arm or his butt to get HIV having vaginal sex with a woman who does have it.

My Stepbrother was one of the first men to die of HIV in the US.
