A buddy who is no liberal bought his wife an EV because her gigantic downtown office building has a multi-story garage full of empty, close-in EV charger parking spots.

He thinks this is funny as hell.

And the 5,200,000 Republicans in California. People forget a huge piece of that toxic state is red. There are more Republicans in California than there are people in Louisiana.

It's really fricking weird how so many people will completely ignore 35-45% of a state's population b/c it goes red or blue during an election.

17 million people voted for President in Cali in 2020. 11m went Dem and 6m went Repub. Yet somehow this board determines that the entire state is blue and no Republicans would ever drive an EV b/c... reasons.

Model 84. What a coincidence. For the Orwellian society.

Just think, if the greenies cover about 500-1000 acres of wild spaces with the non-biodegradable solar panels they might just generate enough power to charge one of these things up.

that's 100-200MW of power. Some of you are overly dramatic.

Definitely likely, but the average car note in the USA is 3x what Scruffy pays.

Scruffy definitely makes a pretty good amount above average pay.

Why would anyone tie themselves to a note like that? It is clear many of the people who are doing that can’t afford it as well.

I wouldn’t go 100% EV but my hybrid sedan is cheap to drive and i don’t even notice gas prices. I don’t have to plug it in, it just charges itself when i drive. I drive over 100 miles most work days so it was worth the extra $3000 to get the hybrid.

It's California.

I still see smart cars now and then. People are dumb and there is a market for dumb.

Seriously. Living at the beach, I would love that as a second vehicle, although the front end is an abortion of style. Im actually more intrigued by the Olympian 01. I give them a lot of credit for going outside (or is back inside?) the box on the design, especially suicide doors.

Or that some invisible line or river demarking a states boundary is an indicator of who you vote for.

Just so everyone is clear, the fact a non-plug in hybrid vehicle with the added weight of a battery is vastly more efficient than a regular ICE is a testament to just how inefficient ICE cars are at power generation.

All that wasted power is captured by a battery.
