If the federal government didn’t subsidize every car loan we wouldn’t have as many non-contributing zeroes driving around in circles on roads to nowhere.

Vets in Metairie was the model for this design. Works pretty well there.
Exactly. Vets is more congested than 190 but the traffic moves. I think this will alleviate the southern flow of 190 but the bridge will always be the factor on the north flow.

The northbound bridge and the light at Lee Road

I could live with the one light in Madisonville, or even up 21. Having to use 190 to get home would definitely make me pass on a house

I used to be optimistic about that too, but there is no bottleneck on Vets in Metairie going either direction. There is one on each end of 190 in Covington. I’m part of the problem. I’m a transplant. Prior planning would’ve made 190 north of I-12 look like south of I-12.

THIS! No way in hell would I buy a house that required me to travel 190 to get home. NO WAY IN HELL

I got a pretty expensive speeding ticket thanks to the 35mph speed limit because of this fricking construction
edit: I was speeding regardless of old or new speed limit but the 35mph construction zone made it more pricey

I switched to I-12 to hwy 21 into Covington. It is a little quicker, but not much.
I work off HWY 59/I12 area, live in North Covington. I take 190 in the morning to get to work because it's empty at 6am but in the afternoons I hop on 12 and go to 1077 to go home. no way jose on 190 in the afternoons. One day its clear all the way to Chimes, the next day its backed up past dogpound.

Can’t we give it a chance first?
Do we have a choice? Imho, this will fail bigly. As I noted when talking to one of our esteemed politicians, what is going to happen at rush hour and the turn lanes back up and totally block the flow of traffic...crickets. This is a stop gap measure to make it look as though our politicians are working.
Just remember, your kids teacher works harder than our politicians.
Enough said.

Yep I just moved and travel up and down 190 daily now. It is becoming a nightmare. Dont see what all these new u-turns are going to accomplish. They dont do anything for the rubbernecking

EXACTLY!!
All this is going to do is back up the traffic faster. The interstate on ramp for 12 @190 and the bridge on the north side is a disaster. They should have fixed these two items first.

Maybe they can add a new exit/entrance going over the river. That works so well.
You can count on traffic in Westlake
You can count on traffic in BR
You can count on traffic going over the Tchefuncte River

Yes that has been a nightmare for traffic. I have a feeling the same people who propsed Pinnacle proposed this new "No Left Turn on 190 project"

St. Tammany doesn't have enough cross streets that people can use as alternate routes. The area is exploding with population, but the roads can't handle this influx.
I wonder where I've seen this before. All I've got to say is:

Ready.

Another group of signal lights scheduled to be turned on tomorrow night.
No left turns from a couple more side streets onto 190.
Lane closures tonight so the asphalt can be laid.
Just bear with it...

More lane closures tonight to install asphalt, and turn on new signals from Crestwood, north....unless it’s a rain out.
