May not be as popular but I like our sycamore. It grows fast. Ton of shade in the summer. Its negatives work for us. Lot of leaf drop but ours blow right into our viburnums and they act as mulch. I set up a gravel sitting area around the roots that are above ground so no issues there.
Is it possible to just do the floor/pan? Instead of going up the wall?
I am on slab for reference.
frick!
Thanks all.

Can anyone forward me a YouTube that has the correct procedure. I’ve seen so many that I’m not sure which route to go.

Shower floor waterproofing sealant?

Posted by Sheepdog1833 on 4/12/25 at 5:27 pm
I have a stone small tile shower floor.
I’ve recently discovered that it is leaking from somewhere in the shower into my neighboring bedroom. I’m positive it is not coming from the drain pipe.

Is there a clear sealant that I can put on the tile instead of ripping out the entire floor pan to waterproof it?

Discounted tix after game start?

Tomorrow night, my 13 year old is participating in a recognition deal where he gets to watch warm ups, recognized at some point and they feed him.

He’s got free tickets. However they are in the Warehouse.

My question is do aftermarket sites allow purchase after off and do they usually drop significantly in price? After his recognition, I’d like to upgrade our seats.

LSU used to or maybe still does, offer upgrades to seat for a discounted price if the owners didn’t show up. Do the Pels/ NBA do something like this?
I read the label and am still confused!!

What is mixing rate for these packets on medium infestation per gallon per 1000 sq ft?

I just looked, they don't have a timing graphic, they just say daytime.

Thanks for looking.

This isn’t what I’m asking but thanks for the tip. I’m not asking for rain percentages. I’m asking about severe weather potential. I understand I can’t get a specific minute time. But no one thinks there is potential of a tornado on the Northshore right now. But possibly before tomorrow? Sure.
When can we expect that? Maybe after 9:00? 11:00? 1:00?

Im not trying to be an a-hole. I’m just asking when the smart guys and gals here think we’ll get some supercell potential so that I can get my cranky kids home before then.
What is the earliest timeframe today that we can expect potential wind gusts and isolated severe storm cells to get to the Northshore?
Attempting to get all my driving teenagers home before then.
Family of 7, kids of all ages. 5-20.
Would prefer hikes over shopping.
Traveling after school is out.
Wife and I have been to Sedona and love it.
Would it be better to come in from the North though? Utah or Colorado?
Zion National park instead?
Maybe should rephrase. Grand Canyon as a one day trip but what area is better for the rest of a weeklong trip?

re: Who on here has starlink?

We got ours in early 2022 in rural Northshore. DSL from ATT was our only option for three years (12 download). Starlink is miles ahead. And it’s gotten much more stable as the years have gone on.
You’ll be running speed tests often just to see how fast it is compared to your old stuff.

Carolina geranium herbicide?

Northshore, LA.
Taken over a small section of back yard. Virtually no grass left. Was centipede.
What about my options this time of year? I can resod if necessary after application.

Had this issue and plumber came by and removed my shower head and cleaned it out - it had some trash in it restricting the flow - once he put it back on it worked flawlessly- cheap and easy fix to try before you go down a rabbit hole

I just did this, and it fixed my issue. Didn’t even think that the low pressure would be the cause of the heater not kicking on. Perfect sense though.
I have the same issue and am curious for the answer.

Ants on water well head

Posted by Sheepdog1833 on 2/16/25 at 8:16 am
I have a small enclosure over my well head. There is a concrete pad surrounding it with about three inches of space surrounding it.
Weirdly this morning I noticed dead ants in the toilet! After investigation, I found a giant colony of ants on top of the well head. No true sign of a nest anywhere. I’m presently pouring hot water over it then vinegar. They keep coming out of the area.
Since this is drinking water, what is something that I can control these with?
You’ve gotten the most common problems advice.
Also check the oil level. Some small engines have a safety kill if your oil is low.

The Tammany trace bike trail gets used a shite ton all year round

This is true. I did a project recently where we had to shut the trace down. It took us a month to coordinate with the parish for closing it. They said it’s easier to close the interstate than the Trace.
Failure.
We’re already on Day 3.
What has taken so long?!?
I’m doing this now.
It’s working.
Dry needling is a humbling experience.

Outdoor Basketball Court DIY

Posted by Sheepdog1833 on 12/6/24 at 7:57 pm
Has anyone built their own basketball court or hired someone to do it.
I can pour the concrete, so my question applies to after that step.

Did you paint it? If so what kind of paint?
Did you use a painting stencil kit?

Broom finish first or sand in paint?
Just trying to figure out the safest application of the surface.

What goal did you go with? Happy with it?
