re: Concrete with mesh or fiber
Posted by Sheepdog1833 on 2/4/26 at 10:20 am to Royalfishing
Municipalities are all using fiber.
I think it’s because it’s easier to break out in the future if repairs are needed.
I like using fiber as it doesn’t require labor to install correctly.
It runs between $6-$10 per cubic yard.

Saw a car with matte gunmetal color in the showroom. I love the look.
But there were handprints on all of the touch points.

Here for some info.
Daughter is riding home from March for Life in DC to Slidell.
They are currently just north of Knoxville.
Call my nerves that they won’t run into icy road conditions through Chattanooga and Birmingham.

Mind saying what insurance company?
I have Blue Cross.
Their website says it’s covered, but the pharmacist says it’s pulling up that it doesn’t.

Just like most everyone I’d assume, I’m more concerned about the young kids and wife who just had a hysterectomy last week.
The oldest with the flu is vomiting pretty good. So I’ll try anything that’ll help the others.
Anyone doing Tamiflu prophylactically?

I’ve seen this pop up recently on social media.
My oldest was just diagnosed with Flu Type A this evening.
He started Tamiflu but wondering if Oscillococcinum is a good prophylactic for the rest of the family.

New York - Broadway trip in February
Posted by Sheepdog1833 on 12/19/25 at 2:23 pm
I’m sending my wife and daughter to see a couple Broadway shows for Mardi Gras break.
Is staying close to Broadway in Hell’s Kitchen a good idea safety wise?
Any other suggested spots?

re: Strabismus surgery as an adult
Posted by Sheepdog1833 on 12/16/25 at 3:23 pm to Crescent Connection
I’ve had it done twice within the past year and have to say I’m not happy with the results.
I’ve had it since childhood and it always nagged me even into adulthood. Prior I did not wear glasses or have vision problems.
First surgery was in February, both eyes. One muscle in one eye. Two in the other. Took a couple of weeks before I felt comfortable to drive because of the new alignment causing a bit of “overlapping” vision as best as I can describe.
Both eyes stayed aligned for about a month then one began to veer outward and up, opposite than before.
I elected to have surgery again in November to correct the one outward eye. Almost immediately I knew it wasn’t corrected enough.
I’m debating my options moving forward. If I stop at this point, it want worth it for me.

To answer your question, I’m not sure.
I’m an amateur.
My daughter plays a good amount on it and I want to give her something moving forward as she goes off to college.
She may have interest in playing gigs so I was maybe thinking electronics on it but not 100% convinced of that.

Looking for an upgrade with a budget of $500 before taxes and set up.
Can I get something in that range with meaningful upgrades?

Where’s a pic of the hoodie?
Son (13) and I are absolute beginners
Posted by Sheepdog1833 on 9/23/25 at 6:43 pm
We are beginners and he has recently shown interest in hitting a few balls after school with me in the yard. We have a couple clubs that I’ve somehow acquired over the years, having never played.
I have about 200 yds of open space in our front yard.
Here’s my question.
Is there a club best suited for learning as a beginner? My inclination is a pitching wedge, am I on the right track?
