Well you and everyone who thinks the same clueless. You could have compared the lack of rise in wages vs the hellish inflation.

You must be new here. Go read the thread about high prices. Many have zero clue.

I think it needs to be emphasized that minimum wage wasn’t designed to be a a permanent means to make a living.

Makes me think of Venezuela when toilet paper was so expensive that it was cheaper to wipe with cash.

You appear to be the one that is confused.
The notion of a living wage is based on spending power, not a wage tethered to a specific hourly wage, the spending power of which is eroded by inflation over the years.
Strawman argument.

No this is the part where you can’t stay on point because you know he’s right

If they knew how economics, inflation and how the economy works they wouldn't be poor.

But to pretend that the cost of everything is directly proportional to the minimum wage is asinine
It actually crushes the semi skilled labor above minimum wage.

Wages haven’t gone up and the prices of everything continues to rise.
This is the issue.
We live in a world where people have accepted stagnant wage growth while cost of living has skyrocketed.
So now any increase in wages to where it SHOULD be, is expected to carry a similar increase in cost of living, which means we get stuck in the vicious circle.

That might be true, but who the fux wages have gone up? Everything else has.
Poor people. A lot of jobs that were previously paying $7.15/hr are now paying $10+/hr. Someone has to eat that delta, and it sure as shite isn't going to be the corporations.

Bjorn, that's it; which is why I inserted the (para.) so that someone who remembered it off the top could correct me.

Doubtful. If they had the ability to understand that, they would not be poor in the first place.

No. But I wish all posters would figure out these topics go on the political board

I caught what you were throwing down.

Why is everyone saying wages are not going up? For the lower tier paid workers their wages have sky rocketed. Fast food is paying anywhere from $15-$25 an hour for the most brain dead retarded employees. The plant baw making 90K may not have seen such an increase but the average wage has gone up.

Generally speaking, the people that have minimum wage jobs aren’t very bright, so no, they aren’t gonna figure it out.
