I booked a condo in Florida for 5/1-5/5 on 4/29. On 4/30 they canceled my reservation and gave me a credit. Would not refund so I disputed charge with cc company to get refund.

Credit Card companies have much more clout to get refunds off ticket resellers and such. After all, if the resellers get their charge card access cutoff they are out of business regardless of Wu Flu or not.

Never used SeatGeek. Are they the actual seller of the ticket of do they just provide a platform for users to buy and sell tickets to and from each other? If it is the latter the seller really makes out like a bandit here. He got the money from you buying the ticket off SeatGeek and then got the money from the ticket issuer they originally bought the ticket from when the event was cancelled.
Edit - NVM looks like SeatGeek is just a secondary marketpalce. So, if the event was cancelled the person who should be on the hook for the refund is the person you actually bought the ticket from, not SeatGeek. Good luck with that.

It didn’t take long for everyone to start one-upping each other on how much money they got screwed out of

Out fifteen dollars for the pelicans hawks game..
I don’t think these games have officially been cancelled yet. Once the NBA decides what they are gonna do, you should get a refund.

SeatGeek modified its “buyer guarantee,” which originally promised a full cash refund if an event is cancelled and not rescheduled.
Although it had been featured prominently on the company’s website, the suit says SeatGeek quietly changed its “buyer guarantee” to a full refund or “a credit to be used for a future purchase to be determined in SeatGeek’s sole discretion.”

I'm out 80 on a Ticketmaster event because the event hasn't actually been canceled even though my flight and AirBNB is canceled

Seems silly to post that guarantee, but I'm sure it brought them a lot of additional biz. Fact is, they can't afford to pay you your refund. SeatGeek is a reseller, essentially a broker, they make their money on transactional fees, not the actual tickets if I understand their business right.
In order for them to refund your ticket and remain whole, SeatGeek would have to force the person you bought the ticket from to buy it back. Seems shitty to shift to a future credit, but it's better than them just shutting down and you get nothing

Shouldn’t have cancelled an august trip

I received this email on 5/12:
quote:
Hi there,
Based on the most recent updates from Major League Baseball and its teams regarding the coronavirus, we are treating the following upcoming game as canceled:
• Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox - Apr 08, 2020
Don’t worry, the tickets you purchased are protected by SeatGeek’s Buyer Guarantee and you will be entitled to a refund of at least 100% of your original order. We will contact you with more specific details regarding your refund within the next 1 - 2 weeks and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the unprecedented number of impacted purchases.
Like you, we wish this wasn’t the case and we look forward to the time when we can share a seventh inning stretch or a standing ovation with friends and family again. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact our support team.
Thanks for using SeatGeek!
Sincerely,
SeatGeek

I had eight tickets for the entire LSU at Ole Miss Baseball series through Seat Geek.
It was refunded to me in full about a month afterwards.

I've got 4 tickets for the Braves on 4th of July. I bought through the Braves ticket office. I think they're still waiting for official word of cancelation. Hopefully I get a refund and not a credit since I live in Louisiana and was going to the game on the way home from vacation.

They spent it on party supplies.

This is the email I received, hopefully one of the options is refund.
If your game is affected in July then the Braves will reach out to you directly with your options for the tickets you have. We plan to play as many games as possible though! Have a great day!

Is it too late to dispute the charge on your credit card?
Posted on 5/23/20 at 5:14 pm to GeorgeTheGreek
I recall reading where both Ticketmaster and Stubhub were going to offer 120% credit for future purchases rather than refund ticket purchases even if the event is cancelled. I have $1200 worth of tickets purchased for 1 concert in July nd I don’t want to be forced to spend $1200 on other concerts or events that I don’t really care to go see. Total bullshite.
