Where exactly? I get off and on the interstate @ 510 daily on the way to / from work but haven’t noticed a dog.

This morning it was I-10 west before the Michoud exit, on the right hand side

Hmm I haven’t noticed but will be on the lookout. There’s a lot of traffic in that area so I would imagine if he’s hanging out on the side of the road someone will pick him up.

ETA: if I see it I will try to catch it and bring it to my house.

There’s literally zero chance NOPD or anyone affiliated with the city is going to go check on that dog

Well that would be terrific. If you can't take it home, which is understandable. Maybe leave it some food and I'll get it Saturday.

This isn't a stray. It's someone's pet and it's probably gonna die soon.

It's going to get picked up and used as bait in a dog fighting "training" if someone doesn't go get it.

I can take him home, I just have to see him and catch him. I’ve tried to catch dogs on chef hwy before to no avail but usually those dogs are a little more wild and likely have no desire to be in a home.

This is my fear. At least two days now it's been abandoned. The clock is ticking loudly on this animal.

This one's a pet so I think he would be ok with a little help.

Reminds me of that boxer that was always just chillin for like weeks on the Essen exit in BR. If I recall his owner was located and he retrieved him.

Well I think there are alot of folks who would like to go pick up this dog right now, myself included but I won't get off until 8pm. I really should have stopped to get the animal and keep it in my truck for 8hrs until I got off. I could've checked on it from time to time. I didn't think it through.

Well if this dog's leash gets hung up on something, he's frickin' dead. He won't be able to get to water or even road kill. Plus the alligators will get him.

Well I hope so.

I really regret not stopping and bringing the animal to work with me.

Well I'm not a dog breed expert but at 70 mph, it looks to be a medium size black shepard or shepard mix.

Red scarve/collar and leash.

There is a Michelle Poolson on Facebook who has posted a picture of a sheppard like dog that is missing. Check out this post and see if its the dog you found.
