Yeah, it's a terrible run this go round but this is the first time it's stalled off the coast for any run.
I said earlier in the thread a stall without getting on land would be worst case scenario for both the Corpus area and areas to the NE. Hopefully this is an anomaly and it makes its way inland a bit.

This scenario would have to evacuate the entire state of Louisiana.

I'm supposed to be leaving Houston and heading to NOLA tonight for the weekend for a fantasy draft. Looking at the last few pages of posts; am I setting myself up to be trapped for the worst part of the storm?

New Orleans wouldn't exist at that point considering their pump problem.

No.
But the angle of approach sucks.

Exactly where are they gonna go???
I-10 might be under
I-49 might be under
Houston more than likely will have issues.
You have here in DFW. However, bad timing because all the hotel rooms are booked for next weekend.

Y'all keep forgetting Katrina was sitting out in the gulf as a CAT5 and brought a 30 foot storm surge to LA and MS.

you likely wouldnt be able togo home and would have to go elsewhere to evacuate NOLA

Not sure if I'd go that far. Rita was @ 931mb at landfall with 120 mph winds. It was awful for SW LA and south central LA, no doubt, but I don't seen any reason so suggest this storm would be even worse.

I have no idea....I guess we could head to Florida

True and it also got so large that it actually had no choice but to decrease in strength.
